“Good price-service ratio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

The hotel is nicely located at the corniche road. Had a room with seaview and a little balcony. The restaurant were they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner is on the other side of the street an can be accessed through a tunnel. Food (dinner) was quite good and price reasonable.
The room was good and clean. Only the A/C did smell pretty bad as it was turned off (winter). Bed was good (with turndown service for those who need it).Internet is offered with different plans at adequate 5 USD per hour (you can log out and in as often as you like). All in all a decent place with friendly staff at a reasonable price (which is pretty rare in Beirut)

I was only in Beirut for 2 days on a business trip but the service was excellent and the best part was the location. Rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfast was great with a lot of variety....would love to be back in the summer and check out the beach side!

Poorly managed hotel, rude staff, and their ‘re-furbished’ rooms feel dirty and are small. No value for money; Riviera – Hotel Beirut does not qualify as a 3-star hotel.

In a nutshell, "we are what we are and that's the end of the story," directly quoted from an email sent by Riviera Hotel - Beirut's Financial Controller, represents irresponsible, bad attitude, and lack-of customer service orientation gone viral!

“Terrible” is an understatement. This hotel does not qualify as a 3-star hotel in terms of hospitality standards, at bare minimum. The staff is rude carrying the contagious ‘we are what we are’ attitude, and the ‘refurbished rooms’ feel dirty. I would have checked out in the same day and accepted a cancelation fee for the first night had it not been for the concierge insisting on a ‘pre-authorisation charge- for the full 3 days of stay in advance!

Riviera Hotel – Beirut does not offer any value for money. For USD170 you’d expect some level of service, especially in comparison to Beirut’s Gefinor Rotana, which offered an excellent stay the week prior for only USD10 difference in room price! FYI – I was there very recently, Feb 1, 2012.

Don't let the overall '4' stars review at trip-advisor.com fool you. These people have no idea what hospitality service means.

Another reviewer wrote “Unbelivable. I am no primadonna, this is the first review I have ever written on TA. I just like to feel clean.” I am sorry to say that I wish I read this review before I went there. It could not have been better stated.

Dear Ms. Reem,

Thank you for your recent stay at Riviera Hotel Beirut and for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate you sharing your experience, good or bad, enabling us to do better, hoping to welcome you back soon, as we strive to provide a better service for our guests.

Please allow us to briefly respond to your feedback as your comments are taken seriously.

It is a concern for us to learn that the encounters you have had with our employees were not always consistent in terms of friendliness, however the pre-authorization charge is a standard procedure applied and the release period through the bank takes at least 2 to 3 weeks, unfortunately the hotel cannot be of any help in this regard.

Dear Ms. Reem, thank you again for your feedback, we’ve certainly learned from it and it will help us to provide the very best to future customers.

In case you have any further clarification, please feel free to contact us at 00961 – 1 – 373 210 at any time, we will be more than glad to discuss the issues with you.

Looking forward to welcome you back soon with the expression of our gratitude and appreciation.

Best Regards,

Nizar Alouf

I stayed at Riviera Hotel Beirut for three nights on January 2012 during Boys Trip to the vibrant city of Beirut, this my second stay at the hotel after November 2010.
The hotel is fully renovated, and it is totally changed.
The location is great facing the sea (the Cornieche) with an easy reach to the city attractions.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, the renovated furniture are fresh with adequate amenities and facilities. For the best experience chose a full sea facing room as the view of the sea is remarkable.
The staff are very helpful, the check-in & check-out are smooth, the service was great.
Since our first visit to the hotel, we got engaged with Nour, the Guest Relations Manager, who provided us with the sufficient suggestions, directions, reservations and made our both stays a memorable one, thump up Nour.
The hotel is without a doubt one of the best 4 star hotel in Beirut, Do I recommend the hotel ?? absolutely YES.

Riviera Hotel is nicely located close to all venues. it has a good working WIFI with prices starting at $10 per 5 hours online. The room is clean, and full with free amenities like water and fresh fuit. Also the bath room is fully equiped.

One remark is about the bed, this I really didn't find comfortable, but this could be my own preference.

Dinner and breakfast is located at the beach lounge and should be great in spring/summer and autum, just in January it looks a bit desolate. A tunnel under the boulevard to get over there also doesn't help at that time of year.

Room Tip: For a more quiet room make sure to request the classic room, they face the garden. But staying in th...
