If you are a fan of small boutique hotel like my self, you'll surely like this one. I can be demanding sometimes and the staff really helped me out even before I arrive by arranging my bookings and the car rental. The breakfast was very tasty and they offer breakfast till 12 noon. The pool was small but on the roof and it makes it special that it's not big. The location was definitely good as its close from everything . I highly recommend this hotel.

we had a much needed night away in this beautiful hotel in the heart of Beirut. the suite we were given, 502, was gorgeous, with a lovely spacious terrace. the bed was wonderfully comfortable (keep meaning to ask them the brand!) and the amenities all from molton brown. we slept very well, then had one of the best hotel breakfasts on record in our room.
note that the hotel has a very small pool on the roof - it could do with some music up there to drown out the noise of the surrounding construction. lovely roof terrace beside it, you could imagine yourself in provence....
point to note - there is some extensive construction going on behind the hotel, which the mgt do tell you about up front, they are trying to direct bookings away from those rooms as the noise would definitely be disruptive.
we wish we could have stayed longer!!

I just spent 10 days in Beyrouth, for the first time, and stayed at Albergo hotel.
I found there an amazing energy and the best people.
Ask for George at the front desk, he has the keys of the city.
They will make your trip 100% safe and unique!
The rooms are beautiful!
At the very private terrace and the pool, you can smell and see jasmine, orange trees, ...

I had dinner on the rooftop terrace of the Albergo hotel on Tuesday night with a few friends and it was the perfect send off for a friend leaving Beirut after having spent a year there. Lovely atmosphere, stunning interiors - you end up wishing you could take half the decor home with you as it's so beautiful, gorgeous damascene lamps etc. Although we sat on the terrace sitting inside is recommended too because it's so pretty. The service was excellent and very friendly - very cool 'light-up' menus. Half of us went for pasta and half of us went for the 'chicken aromatic curry' dish. I would recommend the pasta over the chicken. They brought us delicious chocolate at the end of our meal too - definite plus points :)

In a 1930s building, Hotel Albergo has a natural charm that you won't find in the more modern hotels of Beirut. The rooms are spacious and the staff are very helpful. Evidently it's on the higher end of the market but I believe can justify the prices it charges. The rooftop terrace is charming, a calm spot away from the hum of the city; just visit it to sample the pink lemonade and evesdrop on the jetset of Beirut who mix French, English and Arabic in one phrase. Perhaps to be visited before the hotel adds an extension - which is just a gaping hole behind the hotel for now.

Room Tip: I'd go for a street side room as the back rooms look over several building sites.

We loved Beirut. There are bigger and brighter hotels to stay in but we enjoyed walking around Beirut and loved this small hotel. The room was a good size and the food in the hotel was excellent. The front desk staff were excellent and helped us arrange some tours and recommended some excellent restaurants - we ate Armenian food for the first time in our lives - it is delicious.
If you are looking for something charming - I'd recommend this place.
