I use to stay only in this hotel when I visit Beirut. It is very well located. Everything can be done and visit from here. There is ABC mall at walking distance, a very large number of restaurants. The hotel get renovated, and now it looks like a real 5 star hotel. The room service is great for the value, breakfast is ok and could be better for a 5 stars, but anyway, you can go down the street on your left and you will find plenty of coffee. The staff are very professional and useful. Small issue for late sleepers, on the back of the hotel, there is the construction of the "future" tallest building in Lebanon...so the noise started at 7h30/8h00AM but stopped at 6PM but nothing important. The sales manager is very nice and professional, ready to serve the customer. I will recommend the guy and lady who serve the Room service to just smile a little more...

Room Tip: The room on the back are prefect...like everything else...

Nice area, easily accessible, Le Gabriel is also an island of refinement and quietness in busy Beirut. The natural kindness of the staff is exceptional. It is a pity they do not have an open air swimming pool.

i visited Lebanon twice and stayed at the same hotel, its a small hotel like 6 or 7 floors only, but rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable, very nice friendly staff, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST & deserts, great service.
Perfect location, 10 minutes walking from the biggest shopping mall in the neighborhood the abc mall.
neighborhood is classy and safe and there is a v cool hair dresser right next to the hotel;) and starbucks at the end of the same street...
i would choose to stay there again...

Room Tip: single rooms are better than double, i felt that double rooms are actually small...

Been here two years ago and am still convinced this is a very nice hotel. Especially since we have been on 8th floor this time which has been entirely renovated and redone (had room 808). But now there is yet another 25 or so stories-building being erected right opposite. And they are working from 7 to 20.00, and a bit noisy.
Choose 8th floor and ask for rooms facing the main road so you should be on the safe and nice side. I still still think it's freaky to have a swim at level minus 3, but why not...

after 6 years again we booked a room for 2 nights between 2-4.february in Sofitel Le Gabriel Beyrouth with my wife.we had a remarkable nice memory from our past stay 6 years ago for this hotel.
again the wellcome was very nice at the reception at arrival, but the room and especially bathroom
needs definetely renovation to achieve the invoiced price level.the hotel started the renovation of the upper floors but the lower floor rooms need urgent renovation.
otherwise the little restaurant caffe at the ground floor where they serve breakfast buffet in the morning and drinks, tea and coffee during day and night with a nice veranda is quite nice.
also the hotel staff hospitality and friendly approach is quite professional.
the only disadvantage is the price of a not renovated old room at an expensive price per night.let's hope that this renovation will finish to see modern and clean rooms and bathrooms.

Room Tip: choose renovated rooms in the upper floors

If you're staying in Beirut and want to stay in the eastern part, this is probably your best bet. Set in the Christian and to some extent francophile part of Beirut, the hotel is within a minute of Sassine Square and five minutes of the newly renovated Down Town. The hotel staff is very friendly, but the decor is a bit garish for my taste. I only stayed a night and trying to watch TV in my room I noticed that there were hardly any English channels, but instead a load of French and Arabic channels - not atypical for the eastern side of the city, I guess. Breakfast again was mainly continental, but the Croissants were delicious. In all it was a bit expensive and quite average for the price bracket.
