I was at the Concorde cinema recently to watch Rum Diaries, and was apalled at what the cinema had to offer. If you are looking for a typical enjoyable cinema experience, look else where!
First off the cinema rooms have not been renovated since the early 90s and they are so badly maintained, an run down. The screens are small and if someone sits infront of you, you won't be able to see the screens. In the dark I wasn't able to see much but when the lights came on I was shocked at how dirty the seats and the room was.
The type of audience you'd typically find at the Concorde are young teenagers who are there to act "cool" by doing one, or in the cases when I've been, ALL of the following DURING the movie:
- talking to each other out loud
- talking to the screen out loud
- listening to music on their phones
Its a shane that the cinema's management have taken no measures to improve on the long list of things that need fixing here.
If you are looking for a decent, clean, and more importantly civilized cinema experience (one you would typically expect) go to ABC Ashrafiyeh's cinema for the exact same price as the concorde.
Hey Concorde 1970 called, and they want their cinema back!
