We stayed at Talal Hotel for three nights before we moved to another place in Beirut. This hotel is not even worth the low price they are charging.
Reservation: When I reserved the hotel via their website I received a confirmation stating a higher price than the one that was stated on the website, without any comment. Also the reservation procedure was complicated, one has to send in a scan of the passport to guarantee it.
Room: The room was not clean and terribly run down. Even for a budget place this was not acceptable. Also the common areas were not clean. The shower water was cold during the first two days, then they finally managed to fix it. There was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom.
Location: The hotel is in a small side street of Avenue Charles Helou. Overall the location is not bad, close to the Gemayzeh area and the Charles Helou Bus station. It was just a 10 mins walk to downtown Beirut.
Price: We paid 35 USD for the room per night. Although this is cheap for Beirut, I cannot consider it as good value for money.
