“My Business visit to Kuwait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

After arriving at Kuwait International Airport.
Arranged taxi to the hotel Movenpick, but there are two Movenpick Hotels in Kuwait.
After deciding which one I had booked, the tax drivers most of them could not speak English, so I had to wait until an English speaking taxi driver arrived. So sorted out travelled to the hotel which took about 15 minutes and cost 5 KD. Arrived at the hotel the staff were very good. I was amazed at the standard of the hotel. I have been to many hotels in the Middle East including Dubai. This hotel was one of the best i have stayed in. All the hotel staff were very polite, and spoke English.
Room was very good all amenities were there Coffee and Tea making facilities. Iron Board and Iron. Overall the room could not have been better. Bathroom had all amenities, including a bathe robe. Free Arab style cakes.
Food was very good a choice of two restaurant's one inside and one in the garden.
Overall I rate this hotel 5 star and would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Kuwait City.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 243 which was in a good location.

Arriving at the Hotel makes you wonder whether the driver has lost his way, the location is not the most attraticive. However, once thourgh the barrier, all changes. The staff - beginning from the footman and security, to reception, concierge and managers - are all very friendly and efficient. The service is very attentive and polite.
The rooms are large but some are on the dark side if not facing the sun. The AC is loud but very efficient, thus does not have to rattle permanentely.
The drivers are very punctual and reliable, very comforting for a woman travelling on her own.
Would stay there again.....

The hotel location is superp and the rooms siza is very big and has agood balcony, but still the design of the hotel is very bad since you have to check in in one place and go to the room in different place, also the check in procedure is so bad and the staff are not helpfull, still th breakfast is acceptable.

There better hotels in kuwait with same budget and less.

Disappointed with this hotel. The swimming pool is a disgrace. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months with a greasy scum around the water line and dirt all over the bottom. There was a general small of sewerage and even the pool water smelled stagnant. I decided not to risk a swim.
The rooms are ok, as was breakfast.
The location is very out of the way and the hotel has a cosy deal with a taxi operator who tried to rip us off. They then insisted that there are no metered taxis in Kuwait. In the end we hired a car for the day from Auto Force and they delivered a brand new car within an hour.
The hotel has no tourist information at all and the staff know very little.
Five star? I don't think so!

rate was costly for suit with teo rooms option, balcony w/o chairs and table and been those items moved to other place! for other guests .my husband head pumped and enjured dur to kitchen cabine sharp edge which totaly un safe. same for king room bath room tab counter is taking most of space and find difficulty to entrr. small bed rooms and drawers make sounds incas open or close which is source of nouse dpecillay at night. . living room furnished with one sofa fit for two persons and the booking was for 4 persons. in general the hotel rooms need to be redesigned to modern furnature, considering saftey and more comfort.

This is a great hotel, but a little distance from Kuwait City itself. Ideal if you have transportation.
The hotel is in the Free Trade Zone, & at first you do begin to wonder where you are being taken to. There is compliamentary airport transportation from / to the hotel, which takes approx 10 mins (dependant on traffic)
The hotel is on 2 levels, with a choice of restaurants.
Executive rooms are of a good size, plenty of room to 'walk about the room', with seperate seating area. Balcony, mini - fridge, tv, tea/coffee making facilities, writing desk, a/c - thank goodness, linens changed daily, very large bathroom area with seperate bath & hand held shower, plus shower cubicle large enough to have a party in. Seperate wc & bidet. Plenty of bathroom freebies, slippers & bathrobe.
Great pool area, very clean. Large pool, with lazy river & waterfall. Life guard & /or pool attendant on duty. Snacks & refreshments poolside available.
All staff extremely friendly, & will go out of their way to assist - if needed.
Only ate breakfast in hotel, but a good choice for all tastes, buffet style.
Free internet access in rooms, & business centre with computers & printer etc.
Hotel does get busy at the weekends (fri & sat in the gulf), with 'locals' enjoying the facilities, but that should not interrupt your stay.
Hotel is in a strange place, being in the Trade Free Zone, but it is a 'little oasis' of calm.
There can be a 'strange' smell drifting on the breeze. This has NOTHING to do with the hotel, but the area of the port of the Trade Zone. Same smell can also be had in the city itself, & all depends on the wind direction.
I think this hotel is probably more geared towards the business traveller, but travellers with kids, or families should not be put off. Great little kids plat area, & kids pool, so the hotel caters for all ages.
Well worth staying here. Would i stay again?, Well, have done so twice so far this year, & already booked for November.

Room Tip: Go for a pool view.
