“Friendly place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Parsian Esteghlal International Hotel combines iranian culture, a friendly environment and cozy rooms.
The new tower has new rooms but the old tower is also good. Does not meet 5 star hotel standards but its fair and people are very friendly and helpful, so I do think that it is a nice place to stay!

We stayed 2 nights in Western Tower of this hotel, as we had booked it through travel agency in Iran, and to transfer to Eastern Tower we had to pay almost double (as travel agencies charge their own fees).
The first room they gave to us had a shaky bed which we were not sure, if it would not collapse, wallpaper pealing off the walls and overall feeling like in 60ies. This room was in 6th floor.
We complained about it, and they moved us to the 12th floor, which there was more stable bed and no peeling wallpaper. Otherwise - same 60ies feel. Certainly, when compared with other Parsian hotels, this is a BIG disappointment. I can not understand how can they give this hotel 5 stars.
Breakfast was just ok - coffee like a water with some coffee fragrance and brown color. Iranian brewed tea was terrible, so we used Ahmad tea bags. The second morning we happened to came down to breakfast at 9ish, and it was hard to find a clean and set-up table, although most of the tables were not occupied.
The Lebanese restaurant - food was awfully salty and fatty, and cost a fortune by Iraninan standards. We paid about 50$ worth for 2 adults and a 2 year old, and it was the worst food we had spent 50$ for. We often attend Lebanese restaurant in Canada, and the food there can not be compared.
The Rose restaurant - "Iranian" - selection of usual kebabs, some "western" food choices of very small portions, and also cost fortune ( by Iranian standards). No option of any Iranian khoresht.
Can not complain of cleanliness, maids really did a good job.

I would call the Western tower rooms a 2 star, and not worth spending more money that truly 4 star hotel not far - Evin Hotel. Unfortunately it was fully booked for those days.
Rather good location, walking distance to Valiasr street and Mellat park.

Room Tip: If you really need to stay in this hotel, then pay more and stay in Eastern Tower. They say its reno...

I was in Iran for over a week on a business trip, and this was the hotel I stayed.
It´s the old Sheraton, but it seems that the hotel have stopped in time 20 years ago. Is a old fashioned chic style, some things needing to be refurbished, the bathrooms mainly.

Considering that we are in country with differente standard comparing to Europe and different culture as well, this maybe is one of the few option we can find in Tehran, but don´t leave your expectation too high.

The service, staff performance, breakfast and restaurant are "designed" according to the country culture and standards. I would say that that this hotel in Europe would be between 3 and 4 stars.

The avenue whre this hoitel is located are very busy, not different as the rest of the city, but becasue is a old hotel the windows aren´t enough to stop the noise of the traffic, 24/7, yes, the city never sleeps!

Basicly, if I need to return to Tehran, this will be my choise, at least I know that are safe, secure, the food is not 5* but quality enough to avoid me to get sick.

So a safe choise!!!

The distance to the airport is about one hour by taxi.

Room Tip: try to have rooms facing the back of the hotel, not the main avenue!

The hotel is located in Mahmodiah cross rode the view of upper level is better, standing to the Alborz Mountain, (rode the view of upper level is better) Close to Tehran International Exhibitions Center, The longest and the most beautiful Boulevard (Vali-Asr) which is one of Tehran’s tourist attraction, Tochal tele`cabin’ Sports & Recreation Complex considered as the longest and contiguous in iran the last station is near the Tochal top. It takes one hours to go to the top. The Rose , Neauphle le Chateau ,Thai, Italian , French and Arabic restaurants with experienced chefs offering all kinds of Iranian and international meals are good restaurants but you can fine good food with less price nearby. It has two tower one of them is newer, although in the new tower the room is smaller than the old one. I liked it mostly because I spend my first day with my dear wife in it! The put a box of flower and a congratulation card.

Stayed at this hotel 12 yrs ago attending a medical conference this hotel was at that time a five star establishment it is still regarded a 5 star establishment but I would rate it as a 2+the rooms are not well kept the furniture is fairly old and tatty.this hotel has two wings an east and a west wing We travelled with 6 couples and had 7 rooms booked all the rooms were tatty. The breakfast was fairly good.Had dinner at the Lebanese Restaurant of the hotel the meals were not t all Lebanese infact a mixture of Lebanese and Iranian we however enjoyed the meals were well prepared and professionally served

Room Tip: If you love a view I suggest you choose the room facing the mountain though it can be disturbing as...
