“Large, large room in large hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Room: Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. Even the room was a bit outdated, I could not believe my eyes when I entered the room. There were 3 toilets, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedroom, large living room with kitchen, etc. Such a large room! The room was clean and obviously spacious. I could not find any faults. Really nice room. My colleague had the same rate and had a smaller room though (and that was still a large one).

Reception: Friendly staff, and helpful. But very slow check in and check out. Take your time for those procedures.

Hotel: The hotel was various restaurants, bars, pool, there is basically no need to get out of the hotel in order to entertain yourself.

Breakfast: Very delicious! Good quality of food, lots of choice.

Overall: Have stayed in other hotels in Manama, but after the Ritz, I would recommend this place for sure.

I've stayed here a few times on business. The property is beautiful! The service is great. The rooms are comfortable. It's close enough to walk to Shwarma alley too which is a bonus! The health club and pool are great. Look into any discounts before you book.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the "All Faith Mosque" have a spectacular sight at sunrise.

I've stayed in the hotel portion last time I was in bahrain and I enjoyed it. This time I was placed in the residence section and was disappointed by everything. First, The Internet was slow. I couldn't do the basic thing with it. Secondly, the check and check out process is the worst. It doesn't matter what time of the day you go to the front dek the service is slow. If you finally get someone they answer the phone in the middle of you talking to them. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and there check in process is a lot less painful. Next when I finally got to my room the room reeked of cigarette smoke. I was then told that all the apartments are smoking and that they don't have non smoking rooms by the front desk. On my way back to the front desk one of the bell hops told me that the 13th floor is non smoking. When I said something to her about that she said she didn't think so but put me up there. I went to the 13th floor and it was non smoking. You would think they would know if they had nonsmoking rooms are not. Other then those things, the gym and pool are great and the many restaurants on site and close by are great. But I will never stay in the residence side again.

This hotel is an high level option for staying in Bahrain. It is very nice, the personeel is very kind and make your stay confortable. The price is average considering the category of the hotel. You can find a lot of restaurants in the hotel as well as a pub right outside the entrance. The room is confortable and equipped with all the tools you need for your stay. I didn't have breakfast just because i was at an event very early in the morning. The distance is convenient both to the airport and to the city center.

5 start....but falls short in some minor areas compared to other 5 star hotels in Bahrain. Food good, room decor could be better, complimentary bathroom items were lacking, i.e. no gents comb, toothpaste brush., had to wait 10 mins to checkout. Emergency exit stairs very dirty and slippy as well as objects left in walkways.Recommend the Sherlock holmes bar, drinks and service v good. But having stayed in other 5 star local hotels, one or 2 just top the The Gulf in my opinion. Having said that, i would return ....sherlock holmes bar is good.

Super hotel, fab room, the Platinum lounge well worth the extra. They do need to re vamp the pool area and get more, new, loungers.
Wonderful restaurants in the hotel there's no need to leave the hotel. The Japanese, one of the best meals ever.

A well established well run 5* hotel, with excellent amenities. There is a superb choice of restaurants with many different cuisines - and a delightful outdoor pool area to relax after work. The best feature is the premium lounge on the 13th floor - great views over the city, quiet and highly efficient service, with snacks and drinks avaailable all day.
