If you compare with rest of the world hotels what you get for same money, I would say it is expensive and value is low. But if I look at Sheraton just from Bahrain prospective only ..I feel this is a centrally located hotel excellent for business travelers. You can walk to city center Manama, Bab al Bahrain, Bahrain Financial Harbour in 10 mins. Taxi is not very difficult to find as well. The hotel has a big mall called Moda within the same complex - the shopping in the mall is rather expensive only for luxury brand seekers. The hotel opposite to Sheraton is Golden Tulip excellent for bargain seekers. Bargain hunters can also look at Ramada Hotel in Adliya. Overall Sheraton is a good hotel but you got to be careful if you leave expensive items outside in the room, my expensive cuflins were stolen from room in Sheraton Bahrain. There is a very cheap restaurant opposite side of the hotel called paradise restaurant I had lovel breakfast there fresh orange juice, egg omelet, with amazing Naan/Roti (one of the best I have eaten). Paid on $4 USD. For the same I pay $40 inside Sheraton. For restaurants in Bahrain I highly recommend you visit some restaurants in Adliya like Jim's, Bamboo in Adliya for value also you can visit Mansoon and Lantern for Ambiance. For fast food you can try Juffair there is a lane full of quick foody joints. When the weather is good i.e during December, January you can try outdoor breakfast at Cafe Lilou, Trader Vics or Elite Resort & spa or I also recommend to take family in summer at Al Bander resort, Hawar Islands. A weekend getaway, Hawar Islands are accessed by a 45 minute speedboat ride. The price can be bargained and is cheaper than other parts of world and its a good resorts. If you like to see Belly dance go to Zahle in Gulf hotel, Al Fanar club in Adliya (I have not tried Al Fanar). Make sure you know rules about taxi meters and when you sit in taxi make sure meter is not on from before..caution on taxi extra charging. This wont happen if you take taxi from sheraton, but taxis charge extra when taking from within the hotel/airport. During Ramdhan try attending a Gabga or Iftar party in one of the hotel tents. I have travels many times during different seasons so I provide you seasonal recommendations.
