I recently spent 6 nights at this hotel while in Bahrain on business.
Upon arrival, the staff was very efficient and attentive. After a grueling 2 days of travelling, they had me checked in and in my room in less than 15 minutes.
I had a junior suite which was clean, spacious and comfortable. In addition to the king size bed, there was a separate full size living room and kitchenette area with a sink, microwave and mini refrigerator. There was adequate closet space for clothing. The room almost felt more like an apartment than hotel room.
The only issue I had was the refrigerator which was packed with hotel supplied beverages (for purchase) and no room for my own. To get around this, I simply took their beverages out to make room for mine and put theirs back prior to check-out.
The bathroom was nicely appointed with the usual accoutrements. Additionally there was a large soaking tub. Despite what carolinecollen posted, I found the towels and face clothes perfectly suited to their task., and I am no petite person. They were comfortable and absorbed well.
Hotel service was very good. On one occasion I needed clothing laundered and within 5 minutes of calling room service someone was there to collect the items. They were returned the following day nicely cleaned and military pressed.
The hotel provides complimentary internet service which was adequate for basic tasks. The bandwidth is inadequate for accessing video/audio sites or conducting any kind of video conferencing (i.e. Skype). After talking to people who live in Bahrain, I think this not so much the hotel's fault as it is a result of the level of internet service in the country overall.
Although I only dined on the hotel once, I found the food and service was very good. Other food choices were available with just a 5 minute walk to American Alley where there is a broad range of food choices including American, Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern.
The hotel is not within walking distance of downtown, malls and other site seeing destinations. However these are easily reached by taxi. Pay close attention to the drivers as some will attempt to price gouge an unsuspecting passenger. Always try to find out ahead of time the average fare to your destination from the hotel staff or on-line.
They provided complementary car service to the airport which was great as it cost me almost $40 for the taxi from the airport.
Overall I found this hotel to be very comfortable with a courteous and attentive staff. I would most definitely stay there again as well recommend it to others.
