“What's that on your face!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

This has to be the place to treat someone special and that is exactly what brought me to this location. My son had scored well in his exam and I was a tag along for the occassion.
Oh the Menu; Oh the decisions; Oh the indulgence. Why is it that chocolate turns us into silly people! I felt like I was a kid again.
Okay so finally I chose a capiccino and pyramid cake which is sponge and mousse encrusted withing dark chocolate with strawberries on top. Another selection was the chocolate fondue with pieces of strawberry, marshmellow, and banana - this was fun and they will top it up because you do exhaust your chocy supply. A peanut chocolate drink with cream was ordered with this serving and was way too sweet for me but for sure it tasted nice. The next desert was a Bon Voyage and another chocolate encrusted desert served with a Hot Chocolate - exquisite.
There are pancakes served with chocolate and marshmellow, pancakes with chocolate and cream and strawberries; the shop also sells packets of chocolates and novelty items.
As you enter there are several cholcate churners and pipes with white and milk cholcate - now if these were clear pipes rather than PVC it would really enhance the atmosphere. It was a little tight seating until we were located to a much nicer spot.
Whilst there is a bathroom where you can wash the chocolate remains off your face and hands, it would be nice if they served a packaged wet wipe or warm/damp face towel. The bathroom also needs upgrading.
Overall I am just praying my son does well in his next exam so we can visit again.

“Chocolate heaven here in Riyadh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

There is another location of Maya on Tahlia St (opposite Copper Chandni) as well, which is where we went.

Maya is chock full of chocolate based drinks (hot chocolate, coffees, cold chocolate), desserts (cakes, fondants, kids items) and chocolate fondues. The hot chocolate had great flavor and the Chocolate fondue with fruits and cakes were great (but better to share the latter than have it myself).

The wait staff were attentive. The place is child friendly. I did not notice 'single' seating, so this might only have family seating.

Nice experience and quite filling. It is a bit on the expensive side but worth a visit for chocolate aficionados.

“Great chocolate options”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

They have a nice selection of chocolaty treats in cakes, fondue, shakes etc. I went to their branch in Hayat or Sahara mall, can't remember where it is, as well as their branch on Tahlia, which is family only (I did a carry out order).
