Description: This is a traditional Saudi Arabian restaurant where EVERYTHING is traditional, from the food, decor (think 1950's Riyadh) & dinning style (on the floor). It does not seem to have a website, which is why I think I haven't seen any foreigners there. This is a hidden gem I believe particularly western visitors would enjoy. Truelly authentic.

“More of a museum than a resto”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Love the interior, the staff and the food. However, food was just a mediocre. You will find other great Arabic restos in town. This is just all about the Saudi experience eating on the cushion and rugs with the perfect Arabian ambience.

Don't leave Riyadh without Najd! You'll miss the fun.

“Great escape from rush city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

Once you enter the restaurant, you feel going back to the old times. Fresh air, sound of watterfall and its atmosphere is taking you far away from rush and dusty streets of Riyadh. All said before in combination with great food makes is this restaurant a MUST.

“Wow! Real authentic Saudi with class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

My sponsor and three of his staff members took me to a wonderful luncheon on a Saturday. I had no idea of what to expect from an "authentic and historic Saudi restaurant" -- tremendous food and wonderful experience. If you are in Riyadh this is a "must dine" experience you'll be talking about for a long time! *****

“Great dinner with friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We were a group of 15 or so. The welcome was great. It is like walking into a secret world. We were shown into a room especially set aside for us. As it was quite chilly, the open fire was lit, which added to the atmosphere. Although the dinner is as expected the atmosphere and service made the evening rather special. Definitely worth a repeat visit, especially for a larger group.

“a Saudi dining experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Sitting on the floor and dining on chicken and lamb over rice, as well as salads and yogurt, provides a sense of what Saudis do, or did, when living in the desert. The food is good, though heavy on the rice, and the atmosphere feels very genuine, with artifacts from an earlier era.
