Description: This is a traditional Saudi Arabian restaurant where EVERYTHING is traditional, from the food, decor (think 1950's Riyadh) & dinning style (on the floor). It does not seem to have a website, which is why I think I haven't seen any foreigners there. This is a hidden gem I believe particularly western visitors would enjoy. Truelly authentic.

“Saudi Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This is the perfect place to taste real Sauid food. As long as you dont mind sitting on the floor/cushions and a fresh breeze, this is a wonderful experience for all families. Family day is on a Friday but go early as it gets very very busy. And a good sign of a good restuarant is that the locals pack into the place. I love the decorations and the outside eating areas. Very rustic. Perhaps a good dusting of the relics is needed but where you eat is clean. The service is quick and efficient and you are left to enjoy sharing your meal with the family. The leban drunk out of bowls is really novel and we loved it. Definately worth a visit.
We have been three four times to date and I have no complaints about any of my experiences at nadj Villiage.

“Ordinary food - don't bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

From the externals you imagine that finally you have found the quintessential Arabia experience in fine food. The rustic mud entrance, Arabic artefacts and stunning courtyard garden seating (traditional 'on carpet' dining) all lead you to think you will receive fabulous food. That is not to say that the traditional flat bread cooking right in front of you is ordinary but gosh, the flavourless and repetitive style to the menu greatly undersell the setting. This is my second experience and certainly I will not go again - and don't go if you want an enjoyable meal. When the laban (yoghurt drink - readily available just about everywhere) is the best part of the meal you can pretty well guess that the four of us on the night were summarily unimpressed. My advice, visit, wander around and go down the street to some of the other wonderful and honest middle eastern food outlets (including the amazing and soooo cheap diner under the Grand Plaza hotel).

“An absolute must for all ex-pats”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Najd Village is an absolute must for all ex-pats. At Najd Village you get atmosphere, authentic Saudi food, and great service.

We've gone a few times with friends and always enjoy the experience. We like eating in a private room, sitting on cushions on the floor. The first time we went, we tried a sampler, which was supposed to feed 4, but had enough food for our family of 7 to eat for a week. However, it was worth it just to try the variety of dishes. The food is well-prepared and interesting. I think it is very family-friendly and is also a good location to go out with many friends.

“Great for families or with a group of friends.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We enjoyed the experience of eating in a small hut inside a village setting. The decor gives you the impression that you're a Bedouin. Food was interesting, meat very tender but a lovely experience.
