We had been there for 2 nights.. 1st of all the reception made mistake & mentioned that our reservation for 1 night only although it was clearly showing they are 2 nights!! 2nd thing didn't like their services it's like they don't have much knowledge about what they are doing also our room was kind off dirty! .. all what I like about them is their location & view to Al-Haram.

i spend couple of days with my family , room is very comfortable with 2 bed connected room available, nice and clean.
the number of elevator could help the busy days , you can catch the elevator with less than a min.
breakfast is great and the arrangement of setting was excellent.
all the people are friendly and very kind to help.

Room Tip: room on the top floor and far form the elevator

I stayed in this hotel during the 2nd week of February 2014. Prior to arriving in Mecca, we stayed at the Anwar al Medina Moevenpick in Medina. It was a great experience so I didn't think I would run into any problems in Mecca.

When we arrived, I noticed that the restroom wasn't clean. I looked into the shower area and it was filthy. Mold and mildew everywhere. When I showered, the water started pooling up and flooded the floor. It's pretty disgusting to be standing in a moldy shower area that won't drain.

I had enough and called the front desk, then went down and spoke to them. I told them EXACTLY what my problem was - the shower. The staff apologized and told me they would put me in a different room. When I requested that they check the restroom/shower to make sure it would be clean, they assured me it would be.

Moving to the new room wasn't any better. The shower area had as much, if not more, mildew and mold throughout. I guess all of the rooms are like this? Because I asked for a room with clean shower area and they gave me another dirty restroom.

Other than that, the room was fine. But I won't be staying there again and I will advise people against doing so.

We stayed for 2 Nights from 7th March to 9th March and had a poor expereince not an expereince expected from chain of Moevenpick Hotels. We were staying in 2432 and 2431.

The check-in was fast and brisk but then all the negativity started. The smell in the lobby on the 24th Floor was extremely bad and disgusting, the carpets were smelly in the corridors.
The Bathroom had a problem in drainage of water. The leveling of water drainage was opposite to the water drainage hole and after taking a bath all water had to be removed via using a cleaning wiper.

We were given Quad Room though we requested Twin Room and a Double Room. When we requested to remove the additional beds we were refused and were told as per policy it is not allowed to take out the bed. We requested to change the rooms and we were told that due to weekend rush it is not possible. Please check your rooms before check-in, my bookling was for one Double Room and one Twin Room, i was given on Double and one Quad Room with four beds and no space at all. My mother was on whell chair and i had no space for whell chair as 4 beds were taking all the space inside the room. Even after persisitent request they did not removed the beds. One bed was blocking the connecting room and we could move easily between the rooms, pathetic service standard.

There were other issues like the exhaust fans were very dirty and clusters of dust debri were always falling from them when ever we switched them on. The tidiness was not up to the mark. In this price i can stay at better facilities and more clean hotels.

The only good thing was the breakfast.

Lastly, when on the checkout day i was asked about my expereince , i gave an honest feedback on all the issues and problems faced during the stay. The Duty Manager and other staff apologized for the service and said that if the complain was raised earlier to them directly they would have taken good care of us ( they promised to take care of us the next time and took out email addresses and contacts and said that we will be contacted later ** Interestingly no one has sent an email of called for anything it has been now one week) . According to the duty manager they have addedd all the information in my profile and it will be taken cre next time. I have low hopes ... lets see as i am going to Makkah City every year and will visit again in december 2014.

Room Tip: Please check your rooms before check-in, my bookling was for one Double Room and one Twin Room, i wa...

We spent four nights here. The lobby is very pretty but the rooms were a little disappointing. We had a partial haram view suite with three single beds. The beds were uncomfortable as all of them sagged and the springs could be felt poking you in your sleep. The linen was good and the bathroom was ok as it had a stand in power shower...however there was a lot of mildew on the grout!! There was not consistency in room housekeeping as the first day they made our beds well and the rest of the days they simply folded the comforters and left them on the beds despite us leaving a handsome tip for them daily!.....not very five star! also not much room privacy as the couple in the room next door were making out and we could hear them clearly....very uncomfortable situation as our teenage daughter was with us. The breakfast menu was the same almost everyday....scrambled eggs, baked beans and sausages daily...not much creativity or variety and bland compared to other places I have stayed in clock towers. Also the chef making the personalized omelets had a discriminating attitude as he would take orders from Arabic speaking guests over the non Arabic speaking guests regardless of the fact that were further in the line. We made a formal complaint about this....no one from the managing staff came to speak to us about it and they said they would deal with it via email. The elevators had enticing photos of the ice creams in their coffee shop....so we went down to get some. When we went they scooped out the ice-cream in a paper cup like in Baskin Robbins...they put no fresh cream, no toppings or fruit like shown in the photos!!The ice cream tasted old and was far from tasting swiss made as advertised. This is not a real five star hotel and you definitely are not getting your moneys worth....avoid staying here...Stay at Rayhaan ...it is opposite Movenpick and has a superior breakfast, plush mattresses and a friendlier feel.
