“Simple, but cheap and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We stayed there for 2 nights in 2 different rooms, as we did not book our rooms before. Fortunately the receptionist (and obviously owner in one and the same person) did provide us for 2 nights by making some calls and rebooking another unused room.
The rooms are simple, but well equiped (new wardrobes, TV on every room). Especially the showers have to be mentioned, as they are clean, quite large and have hot water all day - which seems to be not self-evident in cheapter hotels in Jordan.
The breakfast was continental, it came with several slices of bread, one hot drink (coffee, tea), jam, cheese and butter and 2 eggs - enough for even a big hunger.
The dinner in the restaurant was very good. Compared to other spots in Jordan not that cheap, but good value (2 main dishes, 2 salads, 5 drinks for 23 JD) and very delicious.
Altogether: Everything is good, especially the kindness of the staff was charming! Very nice!

The food is very cheap and very tasty. The menu has a good variety for all types of people. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is just down the road from Saint George's church and only a short walk from the Mariam hotel.

We travelled on a late flight to Jordan and hired a car. We arrived at Queen Ayola Hotel at 4am. Knocked on the door a minute and then They opened. The staff could see that we were tired and took us to our rooms and said we can do the paparework the next day. The rooms we cramped but cozy. A little cold but they have us a bar heater. Shared Toilet and Bathroom but they were fine and the shower was hot. Towels and soap all included as was breakfast. Not the best breakfast but good enough with boiled eggs. We asked to stay another night and were accommadated with this. Madaba is a lovely local town. Located not far from the dead sea, John teh Baptist and Mount Nebo. Also not far from the border to Palestine and we payed a day visit to Jerusalem which we had not planned. Excellent Hotel. Recommended great value for money.

Room Tip: If you travelling in company request rooms opposite each other to use the same shared facilities.

We stayed two nights in Room 106 which has a balcony facing the street. The location is great walking distance for all the main sights. It’s on a busy road so make sure you bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Our bathroom suffered from terrible sewage smells which meant showering was an ordeal – we had to hold our breath and be quick! Nice touch to have mosquito burners in the room. Bedding was clean as was the towels provided. Wifi is free. There was an AC unit in the room, but we didn't use it. There was also an electric fan which was enough for us.

The owner is a friendly and knowledgeable man who can give you all sorts of advice about what to see. He can also organise local taxis to take you on day trips or onto the next stop in your journey without hassle.

The breakfast is basic – pitta bread, boiled eggs, dairylea cream cheese, but they also serve traditional Jordanian food for dinner which was a nice introduction to Jordanian cuisine on our first night.

Great budget hotel and would definitely stay again.

We stayed two nights at the Queen and found it pleasantly quiet, comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The staff were really nice and outgoing with advice or directions. The food in the restaurant was so-so...you can get better in the nearby cafes for cheaper. The room was also a bit pricey but less than we were used to in Jordan: about $22 US. That included wifi, tv, nice shower with hot water, and a closet to hang our clothes. There was even beer available in the restaurant - a bit of a rarity in these parts. Very nice stay.

We had a great time in Madaba thanks to the managers of Queen Ayola Hotel. Thanks to their advices we saw the places that weren't mention in the travel guide. We have done great shopping thanks to them too.
The room was nice and clean and there was a free wifi available. All staff was very friendly, we felt like being home.
If we are back to Jordan we will definetly stay at Queen Ayola Hotel again.
