“Room clean and comfortable and good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

I stayed there in December with other members of my family. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is well located to amenities in Amman, but my daughter was also staying in the hotel and was on her own on the last night we were there. She was awakened at 3am by someone phoning to check that she was on her own and then someone else or the same person knocked on the door, purporting to be wanting to check the minibar, she told them to go away, which eventually they did. We complained to the hotel, who said that it was an error on the part of the person who had thought that the room was not occupied!

I've stayed at the Bristol several times over the past few years for work, and it has always had good customer service, nice rooms, and I generally leave quite satisfied. My latest two trips -- about one week apart -- were no exception. I would recommend The Bristol as while it's nowhere near the quality of the Sheraton, Four Seasons or InterContinental in Amman (from what I hear), it's also significantly cheaper.

One tip: Try and get a room in the new wing, which houses the health club and sports bar. The rooms there seem newer and better done-up. The rooms in the old wing (which houses the reception) are ok, but a little worn-down.

PROs:
- Friendly staff who are flexible and helpful with numerous requests
- Big, comfortable double beds and clean rooms
- Large breakfast with wide variety of food
- Nice, albeit basic, gym
- OK location, but a little far from downtown
- Free wifi

CONs:
- Some of the rooms are a little rundown, especially in the main wing
- Wifi signal can be very weak in parts of the hotel

Overall, The Bristol is not a top-flight hotel by any means, but is good value in my experience and I am happy to recommend it.

Amman isn't the prettiest of cities, and neither is the Bristol hotel, but once inside we had no complaints. We were there for three nights and I had the best nights' sleep that I can remember in a hotel. The bed, duvet and pillows were fabulous. A large comfortable room with plenty of toiletries. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Dinner was a delicious buffet. I didn't get to the main course or dessert because the mezze starter was so fantastic. However the desserts looked amazing and everyone around me said that they tasted as good as they looked. The best I have ever seen in a hotel.
Happy hour in the top floor bar with a wonderful view of the city, is between 7-8pm and really worth a visit.

An adequate hotel. Service not brilliant and breakfast service very slow. Be warned - smoking is a big part of Jordan life and the locals smoke in the restaurant whilst people are eating - yuk. Menu's good and plentiful. Good location for Amman sites.

The location is amazing on the terms of accessibility, the breakfast buffet is good but no fresh juices, the staff are friendly and ready to help, free wireless, where u can connect, your laptop, blackberry and iphone on the same hotspot and still fast enough. Rooms are comfortable, but double beds were not available so got a twin beds.

Nice hotel - food is excellent. Hotel staff is excellent. The only complaint is the 8th floor has a jazz room and I listened to the noise until it closed at 1:30 a.m. I was on the 6th floor. Way too loud. If you're staying here and need your sleep, request a room on a lower floor. Otherwise, I'd stay again.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have to listen to the noise coming from the 8th floor jazz room. I was on the 6t...
