At first sight, this small hotel seemed ideal for a last night after a short trip to Jordan. The reception area is impressive and the staff courteous and helpful; my 1st floor room had a view of a fire escape but was pleasantly decorated with a comfortable queen-size bed and sparkling bathroom. Unfortunately, though, the floors are not carpeted resulting in considerable noise from above. Nor are the rooms even reasonably soundproof with door banging and every detail of conversations from the outside corridors easily heard inside. The loud air conditioning only made the room warmer! To cap it all, the rooms have no drinking water unless you pay for a bottle from the refrigerator.

Requests took an age to be acted on. After seven hours of sightseeing, I arrived in the late afternoon desperate for a long, hot bath. After a bathplug had taken 15 minutes to arrive, I discovered there was no hot water; what came out was tepid at best. Later, having been promised a password for internet access would be sent up, I had to call again after waiting a good 20 minutes. Then, at 10:00pm, there was warm water for all of 4 minutes before it again became cold!

The one redeeming feature was an excellent dinner in the top floor Vinaigrette restaurant, even though the background music was overloud. But I had come for a comfortable hotel room with functioning amenities, not a restaurant. With its major problems, this is at best a 2.5-star property.

I have stayed at the AlQasr Hotel in Amman twice this year, both times for several days and I loved it each time. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.. The service is more than excellent - very personalized.. And the food in the trattoria restaurant in the lobby is wonderful. I really like the buffet breakfast as well. If you want to have a special dinner, then the restaurant on the top floor of the hotel is very classy with a super menu. There is a small business centr that is open 24/7 which is very convenient. Overall, it is A cosy and welcoming hotel and I plan to return there again early in 2013. It's located in a central part of Amman and one can walk easily in the surrounding areas.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and the end of our Jordan holiday. The rooms are compact and fit for purpose, the views over the city are quite nice. Breakfast was good and the chef was very good and made us some fresh breakfast inspire of us being a bit late. Internet access was free in the rooms and that was a big plus in a Jordanian hotel. Downtown isn't far and the cab ride by meter costs about 1.7 JD so a little more is ok but they tend to try to charge 5 JD so don't fall for it, and don't ask the hotel to get you a taxi as you'll pay more especially as taxis are easy to find around the place. For supermarket shopping the Safeway is closeby and open late about 12 minute walk. There are some great energetic places near the Kempinski which is about a 10 minute walk, good cafes and restaurants. On our second night they ran out of coffee and had none in the and didn't have any for the rest of the day as was a holiday(though the Safeway was open).
All in all a good stay and no major complains.

Hotel is billed as a 4 star and whilst it is clean, rooms are small and pretty bland - not much of a view from the 3rd floor with a stale musky smell (probably cigarettes). Expected more considering the elegant foyer area, hefty price and 4star rating. I have seen 3 star hotels with more charm.
