Having just moved to Amman, I have been having a very depressing time discovering that the food here seems to be almost universally average-to-poor.
However, Levant was a revelation and has become my one shred of hope that I have misjudged Amman and somehow managed to avoid all of the good restaurants by mistake. I have been to both their original restaurant near 3rd circle and their newer one in Taj Mall. Both have been excellent meals.
The food is Middle Eastern (Jordanian and Lebanese, I suspect) with an Armenian twist. I didn't order, so my knowledge of the names of the dishes is not great. A few stand-out dishes were the freekeh (smoked green cracked wheat, served like a risotto with mushrooms, cream and parmesan), small lamb parcels with tomato sauce and cream, beef shawerma (small, but very tasty - served on a skewer brought to your table on a stand) and a beetroot paste we had as a starter. But everything was simply delicious - flavours finely judged, preparation and presentation excellent. Order lots of starters and share a few main courses.
The restaurant near 3rd circle had a lovely garden area - ask for a table in the area by the main door, as the tables at the back of the garden are not as nice.
The restaurant in Taj mall can get very windy in the outside area (which, as with all restaurants in Taj Mall, unfortunately overlooks the highway), but it would be nice on a still day.
