“Superb - difficult to find such good food in Amman”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Having just moved to Amman, I have been having a very depressing time discovering that the food here seems to be almost universally average-to-poor.

However, Levant was a revelation and has become my one shred of hope that I have misjudged Amman and somehow managed to avoid all of the good restaurants by mistake. I have been to both their original restaurant near 3rd circle and their newer one in Taj Mall. Both have been excellent meals.

The food is Middle Eastern (Jordanian and Lebanese, I suspect) with an Armenian twist. I didn't order, so my knowledge of the names of the dishes is not great. A few stand-out dishes were the freekeh (smoked green cracked wheat, served like a risotto with mushrooms, cream and parmesan), small lamb parcels with tomato sauce and cream, beef shawerma (small, but very tasty - served on a skewer brought to your table on a stand) and a beetroot paste we had as a starter. But everything was simply delicious - flavours finely judged, preparation and presentation excellent. Order lots of starters and share a few main courses.

The restaurant near 3rd circle had a lovely garden area - ask for a table in the area by the main door, as the tables at the back of the garden are not as nice.

The restaurant in Taj mall can get very windy in the outside area (which, as with all restaurants in Taj Mall, unfortunately overlooks the highway), but it would be nice on a still day.

“Exquisite and exotic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

It was a special experience, we chose to set outdoors. It is a relaxing atmosphere were you can enjoy the view of Aboun with the sound of the water fountain.

Inside it is more polished style and you can see the pita bread being baked in front of you.

The food is another story; it is a mix of Jordanian, palestinien, Syrian and Lebanise with a modern and exquisite presentation.

We have ordered:

Pomelo Salad (a composition of pomelo, mushrooms, cheese, sweet corns and fresh thyme).

Kebeh Neyeh (fresh raw meet blended with cracked wheat, red chilly and onions) it is like the arabic version of patte.

Freekeh belfokhara (smooked cracked wheat cooked with cheese) arabic version of risotto.

Kebeh mulokieh (cracked wheat shell ball shaped and stuffed with minced meat, onions and pine kernels).

Homemade sujjok (sausages).

Stuffed chicken osmalieh (chicken balls stuffed with nuts).

Manti (oven backed mini dough casings filled with minced meat served with tomato and yogurt based sauce) similar to grilled dumplings.

Beef Shawerma (char grilled marinated beef loin) it is served at your table on a shawerma skewer.

I strongly recommend this restaurant for new food experience seekers.

“Didn't have enough stomach....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Even though I'm partial to any place with a sheesha (hubbly bubbly), the food here was awesome. Was with colleagues for business dinner and was blown away with both the variety and the taste... just could not finish everything. Am planning a visit again soon to Jordan and will definitely be visiting them.

Only downside was that as the restaurant gets busier, servers/ waiters tend to become difficult to get hold off and sometimes delays the order.
