“Great food, service... Meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

This cute little restaurant was billed in Time Out as a romantic destination, however you feel as though the dining experience here is a bit of a love triangle, love at first sight with the food but the service is unrequited. After being forcefully recommended an outside seating option, our servers were apathetic, bordering on ignorant. Wine plonked unceremoniously on the table, courses forgotten, even paying felt like an ordeal. Fortunately the kitchen was forthcoming with the love. The fish kebab was a particular delight. Fragrant fish accompanied by a delightful tomato salad with a fresh yoghurt finish. Eat here for good food, enjoy the adorable surroundings, but don't expect a love affair with the service.

“Great atmosphere delicious food and wine.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

It's not just the food. This place is trendy and fresh and very artistic. The menu changes akmost in a daily basis and they use an old typewriter to print it every day. This is the place to meet the right people and one can have long and relaxed rendez-vous with friends. I prefer to order a good bottle of wine (How about Flamm?) and let the waitress serve you with the recommended dishes.
Do not miss on dessrts.

“Hard to find, delicious food, unpretentious vegetarian friendly, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Nothing to do with the restaurant's quality, but it was nearly impossible to find though we passed it several times. First: Lonely Planet's map inaccurately placed the restaurant about 2 blocks east of where it is. Second: Addresses on the street are a little mixed up: number 51 was about 3 blocks west of 52. Finally, there is no outdoor (or indoor) sign.

The food is simply delicious. Best fettucine alfredo we've ever had with full chopped nuts as well as bits of green herbs. The sauce was not the white buttery cream we're used to but olive oil. Thoroughly delicious.

The waiters varied from extremely polite, even shy to a bit aloof. Still, we hope to go back ASAP.

“A hole in the wall that delighted us”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We have been in the area a couple of months yet it was a while before we noticed this place. It really doesn't look much from the street. We entered the cool interior from the stifling Summer heat and realised we were the only diners. We had popped in previously when we followed other people in just to see where they were going. It looked interesting (and was full that time) so we thought we'd try it.
The menu was only in Hebrew but the owner rushed off to organise an English one for us; I'm guessing it was courtesy of Google translate but in any case, it did the trick (and gave us something to chuckle about).

We were presented with 6 small appetiser dishes: lentils, yoghurt, tehina, grilled eggplant, grilled tomato, an excellent extra virgin olive oil and a small loaf of the most wonderful bread piping hot from the oven.

Although there was some confusion regarding the main course and instead of getting the fried pork dumplings he ordered, my partner was served steamed shrimp dumplings. He took it as a sign that he wasn't meant to be eating fried food anyway and was happy with the shrimp that he said was delicious.

I had fish rissoles served in the delicious house bread with tomato, fine slices of preserved lemon and a garlic sauce - also excellent. They were accompanied by red and green hot peppers; the green one was really HOT!

We liked the place and loved the food and will go back with our friends soon.
