This is not your typical museum. No artifacts are on display. The museum takes you through the early history of Pre-State Israel. The museum does a great job of being informative in an entertaining way. Plan on an hour and a half visit. Reservations are a must. Plan on being emotionally touched.
We visited the Palmach and immensely enjoyed the multimedia experience. If you focus on what it is like to be a young member of the Palmach and understand the odds they were up against, you'll get a lot out of the experience. One word of caution -- the realistic low-lighting and cave-like ambience comes with some areas of problematic footing. So be cautious about the uneven ground and bumping into hard obstacles if you have good walking ability and balance -- and inquire up front about assistance if you have any ambulatory problems.
This museum is extremely well done and tells the story of the founding of Israel by the Palmach, the first army. Very inspiring story of what a small determined group can do. Museum is led by a guide...specify English....and is somewhat interactive in its presentation, very powerful. Would definitely go again.
Brilliant!! Learned a lot about a time you don't hear or read about even if you have a Jewish background.
Loved the way the museum told the story of the palmach. Very moving. You feel part of the story and it engages you to listen and take in every detail.
