“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

On our 15 day trip to Israel, we stumbled across this fabulous home and museum. It was one of the highlights of our trip, only surpassed by Yad Vachem and the Golan Heights.

This three story home sits on top of the old walled city of Jaffa overlooking the port. The area is like Being on the top of one of the villages in Umbria with the old stone paths and alleyways and stone buildings. This home is filled with art, sculpture and artifacts for sale. The kitchen on the top floor is most interesting with its huge copper collection, curved stone ceiling and beautiful views of the old port. It also has a wonderful deck off the kitchens. Things are beautifully displayed throughout. It is a 1-2 hour delight.

“Interesting Museum and Art collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

Ilana Goor's Museum and art gallery is well worth a visit. She has an excellent collection of African art, (I am a collector myself and it's some of the best I have seen), contemporary Israeli and other art, plus, of course, lots of her own very interesting and diverse work. It is all displayed in her multi story residence and roof garden with beautiful sea views. We had the added benefit of meeting her as she came back from having work bronzed.
A delightful place to visit.

“A gracious personal tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

We were with our guide in Jaffa and we ran into Ms. Goor walking her dog. Our guide of course recognized her and after a brief chat, she called her secretary and opened up her home/museum early so that we could see her fantastic collection. She could not have been more gracious and we were so thrilled to have met her and had an opportunity to see her amazing collection, not to mention her spectacular home!

“Surprising collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

This is a great little museum that houses the personal collection of this recognized Israeli artist. The house originally housed a soap factory and was bought and converted by Ilana Goor into her home, art gallery and museum. The collection spans African, religious, modern, antiques, prehistoric, sculptures, paintings, old books, beautiful cacti, plants, etc.
It is a fun place to visit and to even acquire works by the artist. Highly recommended.
