“Waste of time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

This is not a tour, it is a sales pitch. Do not waste your time, see Tel Aviv, not the inside of a jewelry store.

“No such thing as a free lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

When I signed up for the free city tour, I knew what I was geting into so it didn't come as a surprise when we were carted off to a diamond store at the end of the trip.

What You Get:
- 1.5 hours free tour of Tel Aviv city from an AC minivan. You don't get off the bus, you are driven around all the sites with an audio guide in hand. I was OK with that.
- 1.5 hours in the diamond musuem and time to browse the store. I actually enjoyed the museum as it taught me a thing or two about shopping for diamonds. There was no pressure to buy, but you do need to wait for everyone else to finish shopping before returning to hotel.

At the end of the day, the free tour is sponsored by a diamond company, so of course they will indirectly try to entice you with their goods. However, staff didn't hard sell which I appreciated.

I did feel sorry for others in the group who were upset because tour expectations were not met. There is no such thing as a free lunch. If you are looking for a comprehensive historical tour of the city, this is proabaly not the best option.

“Free tour and no hard sell”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum idc-diamond.com. Can go free if go to nearby diamond shops 1 Jabotinsky Street |Diamond Exchange, Tel Aviv. Ramat Gan (050) 909-8199 or take the free (2-4 hours) City Tour which includes IDC--call (03) 575-7979 to book. Pick-up is at a Tel Aviv hotel of your choosing. The tour consists of an audio commentary while driving by Yaffo and Tel Aviv attractions followed by a worthwhile tour about diamonds--history, lore, definition, and craftsmanship. The sales opportunity at the end was not a hard sell. We requested a different drop off than the hotel and there was no problem.

“Classic tourist trap”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

If you want to buy Yahulmim, then go there but if you do not waste your time in Tel - Aviv
The visit "and the tour" they offer,
There are many Arktziot stores to see except under the guise of a museum.

“interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

I went to this museum one afternoon with my thirteen year old son and daughter. We spent an hour viewing the exhibit. I was pleasantly surprised. The information was well laid out and presented in an engaging manner. Both of my children enjoyed, and they are not always such museum fans. I wouldn't go out of my way especially to visit this site, but if you are in the area, it is definitely worth stopping by.
