“Europe-wannabe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

For us, the Israelis, the river and its surrounding park, remind the beautiful rivers and parks of Europe. Nice place to stroll, jog, cycle.

If you're looking for a nice romantic walk in the evening time you can always bet on the Yarkon river. Just walk around and enjoy the quiet spot in the very heart of Tel Aviv

“Great Park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The park is pretty big once you walk the length of it. It has a bike path all along it so you can bike in the forest, it's great! There is also a zoo which is a lot of fun. On the other end it leads towards the port - great!

“Outdoor Activities for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

Other reviewers have called Park Hayarkon Tel Aviv's "Central Park", and like the one in New York is has distinct areas for different types of activities. Near the Luna Park is the children's area, where you can find a large playground, bike rentals, the lake with pedal boats, the Tzapari bird park and Junga play center, and a petting zoo. In summer and holidays there is also a small "train" (really a golf cart with trailers) and pony rides. If you enter closer to the sea end (by the old port), there are all the sports facilities, more bike rentals, and a lovely river walk. Close to the Shitrit interchange is the Society fo the Beautification of Israel, a small museum of natural preservation efforts, gardens of indiginous plants, and a dairy resataurant overlooking the river. There are busses that run up Ibn Gvrol to the sea end of the park, and the children's side is walkable from the university train station.

“Tel Aviv's own "Central park"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Tel Aviv's "central park" is a beautiful stretch of grass and trees by the Yarkon river banks.
It starts all the way up Rokach avenue (next to the Tel Aviv amusement park) and goes on for over 4 kilometers before reaching the sea shore.
The park includes a nice lake with row boats for rental, numerous walkin/running paths, a small zoo and a lot of activities, mainly for kids.
The park is a very popular place for mass barbecues and picnics, especially during the weekends and holidays.
