“A fabulous collection of 20th century art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

I could have spent a full day in this museum, particularly in the galleries that display the works of Picasso, Klimpt, Miro, Soutine, Cezanne, van Gogh, and Chagall (many of his).
One of my favorite artists was Alexander Archipenko, whose sculptures and 3-dimentional mixed media pieces have some of the finest and most graceful lines that I didn't want to leave the room.
It was a bit difficult to navigate to the galleries that have paintings of the Old Masters (Renoir, Rubens); those galleries are through a room that looks like it doesn't lead to anything.
In the entry hall of the new wing is a gigantic Arp, which is worth viewing from every angle.

“World class collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Much of the new art is awful, as much new art tends to be. Their collection of older art is tremendous though, and we made the mistake of seeing the new art first, which tired us a bit by the time we got to the good stuff.

They have work by pretty much all the major names you'd expect, including Pissaro, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Monet, Picasso, etc. They have one of the world's best Klimt's, and they know it. Not to be missed.

“Good rainy day activity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

I spent a few hours here during a rainy week. It was a good rainy day activity. I expected more art to be Israeli but in hindsight realize that most art museums have collections from around the world.

“Terrific Art Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

The museum is quite large - I only made it through the contemporary art some of which was really good and powerful mixed in with silly contemporary art which you find every place. The contemporary stuff was all Israeli artists and gave you a real insight into the Israeli psyche, issues and tension in the country. Really worth a visit.
