I have not stayed at this Sheraton in a very long time but I was placed there by our conference organizers. It was a great experience, all in all, and I certainly would stay here again. I had a stunning view of the beach that was priceless -- and that alone would have made my stay. The room was fine, the a/c worked wonderfully, the maid service was excellent, the food was very good (both at breakfast and in the lounge), and the service was generally very good. I was on the 10th floor and did not have any issues with construction noise (which was occurring below on the road).
I did not have access to the club room so I was reliant on paying for wifi in my room (this is why I do not use SPG as much as my other hotel "memberships" -- the benefits are limited and paying for wifi in my room is just ridiculous for biz travelers). I might have considered paying for an upgrade to club access but was not offered that upon check-in. SPG and Sheraton simply do not provide the benefits that others do for non-platinum members and so I do not accrue a lot of points with them
And yes, there is excellent wifi in the lounge and in the small biz center, but some of us need a little more quiet to get our work done. One small note: on this occasion, I was traveling alone and I'm female. Sheraton might want to clue in their staff that does not mean I am invisible. I literally had to flag down servers or assistance in the lounge and bfast room on four separate occasions, but when I sat with my male colleagues, I had no such issue. Also, when a guest checks out -- it's a good idea to ask them if they enjoyed their stay. In my case, I volunteered the information after a somewhat perfunctory "hit the road" from the staff member. I am always happy to share with the staff when I've had a good experience - and this is all simply a matter of training and does not impact the overall quality of this lovely hotel.
