The Dan Panorama is, quite simply, a great hotel in one of the best locations in Tel Aviv. At first, my travel agent recommended the Dan Panorama, but I like to do my own research. So, I spent hours researching and reading reviews for Tel Aviv hotels. I wanted a hotel with a pool and in good location along the Med. I also needed a room for 3 adults, since our adult daughter would be sharing the room with us. The Dan P met all my criteria and had very positive reviews, so I went directly to the Dan Hotel website and made my reservation. I joined the e-Dan Club in the process. What I did not realize is that I had reserved an Executive Level room and would have access to the 18th floor Carmel lounge. This was the proverbial "icing on the cake." It really enhanced our stay. The Carmel lounge is open from 6:30 a.m. to 23:00 serving a nice selection of complimentary food, wine, and desserts. In addition, there is a small computer room in located in a back corner of the lounge (wi-fi is an extra charge at the Dan - $20 USD per day - which just does not seem appropriate and we did not pay for it - this is really annoying in a time when just about business is offering free wi-fi -- today's travelers expect free wi-fi! -- enough on this topic; point made!)
Now for more positives, the Executive Club level staff are excellent, the outdoor pool is great, and the hotel was designed so that almost every room has a balcony view of the Med. The main dining room offers a complimentary breakfast that is amazing and redefines the typical Israeli breakfast!
Yes, you could pay less to stay somewhere else, but if you are seeking a relaxing vacation in Tel Aviv at a first class hotel within walking distance of Old Jaffa and other popular areas, your search ends here!
