“Shockingly bad. Poor service. Shabby and low quality.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Poor service form the moment we arrived. No bell boy so we had to fetch our own trolley and bring our own luggage in. The staff were rude and unhelpful. My 'non-smoking' room stank of smoke. Generally shabby and tired decor.
Feels like a 2 star Travelodge.

Stayed there for 6 nights on a business trip two weeks ago. Room as expected for the price, good food, nice pool, right across the street from the beach. Noteworthy was the concierge, Jonathon, who helped very much in planning trips, printing out various items such as boarding tickets, and generally making himself available to help.

Room Tip: If you can, get access to the 18th floor lounge. Free (good) food and drink, comfortable setting, g...

I spent 2 nights in this hotel and I must say the first thing one must be aware of is the fact that the hotel is huge, and a convention center. It is situated amongst other large hotels that are equally as big along the waterfront. The hotel seems to be a haven for vacationing families. Many families seem to have purchased several rooms near each other and frequently turned small children loose to run between them. The rooms were acceptable, and the breakfast that was provided was more than adequate. The large Friday night buffet in the hotel dining room was about $60 a person. Again, this was not relaxing dining owing to the myriad of crying toddlers in high chairs. If a visitor is not that concerned with beach acitivites I would highly recommend seeking lodging elsewhere in the city to avoid long check in lines and the large numbers of small children.

For the first time, I was able to travel internationally strictly for personal joy. From the first experience at the Dan Panorama in Tel Aviv, meeting with floor concierge Shoshana and being provided with a warm welcome and much local information, I was blown away at the commitment to customer satisfaction. But it goes beyond that. Way beyond that.

On approaching the concierge desk in the Dan Pan lobby, I was fortunate to be served by Yehonatan, who helped me book a sudden trip to Petra, Jordan. It was on my bucket list, and though time was VERY short, he made it happen. Numerous calls and calls back were required to book a SUDDEN flight to and from Eilat, book a hotel on short notice in a popular seaside resort destination, and assure safe travel for a woman traveling alone into Jordan.

Yehonatan provided me with all printed out paperwork to demonstrate my paid in full status. However, when I was waiting in line at the border between Israel and Jordan, the first middle man appointed to accompany us at this sector (one of three different individuals on both sides of the border crossing process) walked up to me and said I had not paid. I was a sitting duck. My Eilat cab driver had dropped me at the Eilat border crossing (warning me that the prepaid, included return drive from the Eilat hotel (to retrieve luggage) to airport should be at no additional charge!) and left, as he should, but I had no alternative other than miss the chance of a lifetime to see Petra. I got out my credit card, fuming, along with my paid receipt from Yehonatan. The man refused to back down, and so I paid again.

The tour was lovely, other than that scamming incidents (another American was also so approached in line just behind me and was equally firmly forced to pay or lose the chance to move across the border and visit his own bucket list site! Additionally, the end of tour Eilat cab driver CHARGED me for the "extra leg" from the hotel to the Eilat airport, which the morning driver had expressly warned me of). I was appalled at the outrageous feeling of being totally backed into a corner on these actions. As soon as I returned to Tel Aviv, I spoke with Yehonatan directly, and shared my experience. I was very clear about the excellent quality of the tour itself, but shared both fiscal scams thoroughly. He was appalled and said he would investigate the incidents and make sure my credit card was not charged twice for the tour. He also said that my telling him was valuable, because the Dan hotel chain negotiates and contracts with these vendors to provide exceptional service and quality, and they needed evidence to support or refute the quality and consistency of any service provider.

On behalf of cynical tourists everywhere, thank you, Yehonatan, for going way above and beyond! Your commitment to my Israeli experience at a Dan hotel is unmatched in my many years of global business travel. You set the bar to the highest point I have experienced in concierge service. You exemplify what SERVICE truly means. Congratulations!!!

Just stayed there for a week - a very very nice hotel indeed, reasonably priced, comfy bed, nice room with sea view, helpful, friendly staff, a vast choice for breakfast, great pool and superb location near beach. A short walk to the centre and Jaffa.

Only criticisms:-

1 Why no hairdrier in the bathroom?
2 NS 70 (L13) for the use of internet in the bedroom - do they think we are completely stupid especaillay as we can get free wifi in the lounge area

Room Tip: Room 1216 was fine!!

Stayed here one night after flying in from the states for Israel tour. Food was good and plentiful for breakfast. Location was good for accessing Mediterranean and beach activites. One negative: room was dated, could have been cleaned better.

Stayed in an executive room on level 16. Lovely cool room, which was very well kitted out, including a small but nice balcony, overlooking the beech. In the executive lounge a very nice gentlemen known as Edward cared for my every need, what a friendly, approachable person and will do anything to make sure you have a good stay whatever you are there for. I would give 5 stars just because of the staff. In the David Intercont. where i normally stay - well although the hotel is fantastic the staff are a bit on the touchy side. Anyway, becuase of the room, the food, the staff and the executive lounge - I'll be seeing you a lot more... see you in August Edward hahaha.
