I had booed this hotel as I am a Platinum Ambassador and thus hoped to receive recognition as an Elite Member. Sadly the hotel is very run down and tired and the room and corridors are in dire need of a refurbishment. We arrived late after an horrific journey from the airport arranged by the hotel - the taxi driver spent the entire journey on his mobile, iPod, printing receipts in fact anything but driving carefully! Check-in was nothing special and we were not shown to our room. The room, which was meant to have been refurbished recently, was cold and very damp feeling, and was one of the most drab and depressing rooms I had seen. The walls had been 'patched' painted very badly and the bed looked shabby and broken down. I spoke with Reception and we were shown another room on a Club Floor which was tired looking, but at least warmer. The bathroom was better in that it had a walk in shower, but was very rundown, and not clean, with long hairs on the floor and just a 'grubby' feel. Sleep quality was not good and we were woken early by doors banging along the corridor.

I was shown what was described as a Corner Suite, but this was no better, and was a very small pokey room, just divided into two rooms, with inadequate storage space and an unattractive view.

The Club Lounge was ok, and food offered was of good quality. Staff were kind and attentive but the lounge was very busy and full of noisy guests - not the hotel's fault but did not make for a good ambience.

Porterage was very poor and your cases were literally thrown around with no care and attention. We had a particular problem with our luggage on the day we were due to check out, and I am sure this could have been avoided if staff demonstrated more care and attention to detail, and took time to check guest's luggage before they left.

Whilst some of the staff were genuinely kind and caring, sadly this was not seen throughout, with some staff being quite unhelpful and not understanding what was being asked of them, or simple disinterested.

Whilst the ambience of the hotel was drab and depressing, I think the experience could have been better if staff had been more consistent.

I understand that some of the rooms are going to be refurbished from December onwards, but I regret to say even after the refurbishment, I would not consider returning to this hotel as it is simple too large and impersonal and lacks any sense of luxury of warmth.

the only bugbear on this hotel (which I did point out) is that their room keys are s sensitive! Be careful put them nowhere near a credit card. Mine accidentally for a second thouched my card which is iin my purse and it didnt work. Tel Aviv is a great night place with cafes and bars and when you cant use your key at 2am in the morning it is a bug bear

Other than that it was a lovely hotel with lovely staff - it is a bit tired but I understand will be refurbished soon

Room Tip: there are not a lot of balcony rooms and keep your key card separate from anything

This is my first stay at David Intercontinental and I am certain I will return. It is a luxury experience at its best. The breakfast service and selection were superb, with delicious options and a wide array of cheeses and fresh coffee. We were in a rush to get on the bus to Jerusalem and really wanted extra coffee; a nice girl that was walking around named Keren was delightful and made sure to give us coffee to go for our trip. The checkout experience was smooth and quick. The staff goes the extra mile to to keep the guests satisfied. It's the little things that make a guest's experience exta special. No other hotel compares. This is the ideal hotel and I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Facing north - has amazing views!

We start our 10 Day trip to Israel in this Hotel, after 20 Years of last time to be in Israel we was very impress of the progress of the Country and how they are accomplishing to have tourist comfort in 5 start level... I remember in the past the service and quality was very different in the Israeli Hotels... David Intercontinetal probe for me that Israel is a complete different story right now!!! The concierge was very helpful for us and the location of the Hotel is walking distance for Old Yaffo and the Beach!!! We really recommend it!!!

Our last night in Israel was in this huge hotel, situated at main road junction, next to a mosque which fortunately was not permitted to announce prayers publicly! The traffic noise was tolerable with windows shut. We had a room on 16th floor with sea view which we had to request for although we had pre-paid for it. The room was spacious but abit worn out. The pillows were old and too soft and should have been thrown out ages ago. I had asked the reception next morning and was told that there were no alternative pillows available. We could hear the TV from next door at 2am. The gym was small but functional, nice equipment, however no cleaning wipes to be seen , when we asked, we were told that the trainer cleans it after each use, however we didn't see it being cleaned after
the other guests finished using the equipment. The promenade is only a few minutes walk away, also the market
