“Beautiful Hotel - Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

The hotel is located in the southern part of Tel Aviv near Neve Tzedik and Yafo. It is directly across the street from the beach. The hotel itself is luxurious and modern. It is large, open and contemporary. The rooms are all modern and quiet, and in my two stays at the David, I have had excellent views of the Mediterranean and Tel Aviv. There is free wifi throughout the hotel. There are several restaurants in the hotel, although I did not eat in any of them; they looked nice.

What distinguishes this hotel from others in Tel Aviv is its modern architecture and excellent location. The David sits right on the sea, and it is possible to have business meetings or tour all day, and sit and watch the sunset at the beach in the evening. There is a walking promenade all along the beach area and you can easily find yourself walking quite a distance to Yafo or closer to the center of Tel Aviv. An evening walk along the beach of Tel Aviv was outstanding, and brimming with activity.

The David is also located near the trendy neighborhood of Neve Tzedik. This bohemian, ultra-hip neighborhood is bustling with restaurants, bars and all types of music. Many of the streets are cobblestone, reminding me of Soho or Greenwich Village. It is a small neighborhood, easily tackled in one evening, but represented a distinct change from the rest of Tel Aviv. The restaurants in this neighborhood (not kosher) are excellent.

There is also a nearby produce and goods market that is open most days and about 2 blocks away from the hotel. This is a great market to explore Israeli life, and to pick up some inexpensive t shirts or souvenirs. Central Tel Aviv is also an easy walk away from the hotel. I walked into other neighborhoods and found great shopping and it just seemed like everywhere I turned something was going on. The diversity of these nearby areas within walking distance, makes the Intercontinental a great choice when visiting Tel Aviv.

Room Tip: Ask to face north and you'll be treated to a view of the Tel Aviv skyline and the Mediterranean...

i have stayed here a few times and feel it is reasonable value compared to the other hotels in Tel Aviv. In my view, they are all overpriced for what they provide but this is one of the better hotels in the city.
Great location and very good breakfast.
The pool area is noisy from the road traffic, but is clean and very nice.
Good for business people and family holidays.

My fiancee took me to this hotel on my bday and it was amazing! I absolutely loved the view from the window, as we were overlooking the sea, and we were on 21st floor, so it was great! I couldn't get my eyes from that breathtaking view. Room service was excellent.

Firstly this is a great 5 star hotel. The service is excellent, the rooms well appointed with great views, and all the ammenties associated with a luxuary hotel. Great beds and comfy linens. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. My only gripe is that the wi fi costs $22 per day, or $12 for one hour. Other hotels do have free wi fi .....even if in the lobby. You can go to the coffee shop on the next block and drink a cup of coffee and use the free wi fi ( as in most restaurants in Israel).
The carmel market is minutes from the hotel, and the Neve Tsedek area right behind the hotel. Jaffa is a 20 minute walk along the beach front. The market ends at Allenby Street, which is full of shops and eating places. We would definitely stay there again.
We were there in Summer 3 yrs ago, and the beach is a short 3-5 minute walk......there is no beach right across the street.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the mosque and looking onto the beach.

Hi lovetodrive5214
Thank you for the compliment about our service. Our goal is to maintain our 5 star service with everyone who is a guest here. We have started looking into the wifi as it is a current issue so that we can provide complete customer satisfaction. We offer the best price possible but would always like to honor all of our guests requests. However, our Inca Bar offers free unlimited internet access; opening hours are: weekdays: from 5pm to the last guest, weekends: from 7pm to the last guest.

Thank you for your review.

It was the second time that I stayed in the hotel and it improved tremendously in the last year. Still it is not a 5* hotel compared to the rest of the world, but in Israel it is by far the best chain hotel.
Staff: amazingly nice and caring. Breakfast waiters, Esther and Sergey were attentive at any time. Try to sit in their area. The Evening Manager Namma was omnipresent even at noon time and gave us several times best advice where to have late breakfast (Koshwim Street, very close to the hotel, home-cooked food), Dinner (Manta Ray) and shopping options (even during Shabat). We really felt like insiders and could skip the line in front of the concierge desk. Almost everybody was smiling and unexpectedly polite (in Israel absolute rare).
Rooms: We saw the beach, but also part of the hotel next door. Rooms old, nothing special, but clean and with all you need. No wow-effects.
Club: Luckily we had access (booked club category). Best view over Tel Aviv and the Mediterranean Sea. The buffet (as a snack bar) is good and plenty, especially when you like bread spreads and salads. The hot dishes are mainly cheesy-fatty, but the soup was great. Service was not more than okay, but who cares when one has such a nice view.
Executive Lounge: we had a brief look. If you can afford it, book club category. The lounge in the 3rd floor is included for executive category and by length not the same like the club in the 24th floor. Very cold ambiance.
WiFi: I still do not understand that of all countries high-tech and by now absolute basics cost a fortune (mentioned already several times in other posts). With 22$/24 hrs it is the highest rate in the entire country. Offers like sitting in a smoking bar or a happy hour in the Lobby (only when you consume (I think at least 15$) is not a real option. Every further device cost additional 11$ each.

We will be back, but hope for a big change regarding WiFi rates and rooms.

Room Tip: Book definitively Club category. No children under 16 allowed.

Hi Longchamp,
Thank you for providing us a review and for complimenting our service and staff. We will continue to improve as you suggested in the years to come. We cherish knowing that our accommodations were to your liking. As for the Wireless Internet, we provide the fastest internet available at the best price possible. We realize that this is an issue and are currently looking into this as we provide the service for the entire hotel. In addition, our Inca Bar offers free unlimited internet access; opening hours are: weekdays: from 5pm to the last guest weekends: from 7pm to the last guest.

Thank you for your review and we look forward to seeing you again.

USD $22 per night for WiFi.....
I have nothing more to say about this hotel...

Just as ridiculous is the USD $8.5 they charge for a 500ml bottle of Evian Water in the room....

Doesnt matter how good the rest of the hotel is, this feels like I being mugged every day.....

Room Tip: My Tip? Choose a different hotel.. One with a reasonable approach to internet WiFi charges

Hi Tripper21,
I apologize that you feel as if you're being mugged. Thank you for your feedback as it is very important to improve the quality of our service. We appreciate that you approved of our rooms, cleanliness, service, location and our sleep quality. We are currently providing the fastest internet available with such a large area of coverage. Being that this is a recent issue, we are looking into it to deliver a 5 star service. However, our Inca Bar offers free unlimited internet access; opening hours are: weekdays: from 5pm to the last guest weekends: from 7pm to the last guest. The cost of Evian water is more expensive in Israel since it is imported. However, our mini bar offers excellent local mineral water choices at more reasonable prices.

Thank you for the review as we look forward to having you stay with us again in the future.

Very good especially for local standards, but why tehy charge for wifi and USD22 a day is crazy, when the hotels lower down the ICS Hotel group chain give it free, like Crown Plaza, and Holiday inn !!! other then staff are really Great.

Hi Givemeaholiday and thanks for your review of the David InterContinental Tel Aviv. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and just wanted to address your point about the internet. We realize that the internet prices can seem expensive, however we have found that it is averagely priced for hotels in Tel Aviv. We are monitoring our internet services on a constant basis, and would like to assure you and of course all of our guests, that if we are able to improve our internet services in any way, we will of course do so.

We appreciate your feedback, and hope to see you again soon at the David InterContinental!
