“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Food is quite diverse... the atmosphere very chill...and staff is a lot nicer than the one in Indira (another Indian restaurant in the area). Prices are not the cheapest but still very fair (again, especially when compared to the super overpriced menu at Indira).

“Makes you want to go back to Delhi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

I have given this a high star rating purely because of the overall experience of this restaurant. I have been going for years and it has changed, if not evolved since the start. The best part for me was the roof-top seating area which sadly no longer exists. However, the restaurant itself it very cool and you do feel like you are in India.

You arrive in the downtown Florentine district on a main road and nestled between motorbike shops and closed up buildings is 24 Rupee. You climb the stairs to Indian music, take off your shoes and walk inside. You sit on the floor on cushions and you enjoy the ambience.

Food is fine. Sometimes authentic, sometimes not - it's pot luck. You get a big mound of rice along with several small tasters and Daal. If you love Indian food you'll love this.

Service is slow - or perhaps I should say laid back. It's not the cleanest of places but it's a great place to go, especially if you have kids as there is a play area, they run around happily without bothering anyone and there are children-sized portions.

The original idea was that the Thali cost 24 rupees - but the reality is that a meal for 3 costs the same as a meal at a regular Tel-Aviv restaurant - you won't have much change from a 200NIS note.

Worth a visit if you're in Tel-Aviv and want to try something different.

“simple, fun, friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

There are many good and pretentious chef restaurants in Tel Aviv; this is definitely not one of them. It's in one of the most neglected parts of town, in an ugly building next to a motorcycle garage. You take off your shows, sit down on pillows on the floor, and feel at home. The menu is extremely basic: don't expect anything fancy. But if you come with the right expectations (and the 'right' clothing- an old t-shirt etc), this place is really fun.
