The food in Tel Aviv is pretty good. We were recommended Hatraklin by our hotel (Eden House). It is close to Rothschild Blvd on a street with a number of cool restaurants and bars. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and shown to a nice table. The service here is brilliant. Great explanations of the menu and the wine recommendations were great - all Israeli boutique wineries, which was interesting (in a good way). The first night I had the sirloin and the second night the rump. On balance, I preferred the rump, but both were delicious. OH had the chicken and the entrecôte on skewers and said the chicken was his preference. For starters we had the chicken liver pate, which was divine - light and fluffy with a delicious caramelised walnut crust. We also enjoyed the vegetable side dishes and the lovely cream based dessert (the name of which escapes me). However, getting back to the service - we were given complementary dishes to accompany our starters at no cost, and likewise the dessert while we enjoyed a final glass of delicious wine. We were also given a glass of wine on the house as our preferred tipple was deemed not cold enough. The other diners were also happy to explain their choices and offer recommendations. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a great place to enjoy some delicious red meat and fabulous boutique Israeli wines while in Tel Aviv. The exemplary and friendly service is an added bonus. Fab!
