We went here to celebrate a birthday, and made a reservation for 1 PM on a Friday noon. Despite the reservation, we had to wait until 1:30 for our table.
Most of us ordered breakfast, which was above average but overpriced. The extra side dishes were bordering rip-off - 22 shekels for a small slice of smoked salmon, for example.
On the bright culinary side, the eggs were very good, the bread rolls and jams were great, and so were the profiteroles we had for dessert. The waiters, while hard to catch, tried to make up for the wait by giving us three extra side dishes for free.
The dining space is really nice and well decorated (although quite noisy in the bustling rush hour). The restaurant is located on the bottom floor of a boutique hotel, with a lovely Bauhaus-style facade.
To sum it up, while I still don't understand why people are raving about Hotel Montefiore's breakfast, it wasn't bad either. At least, when they actually let you sit down and have your breakfast...
