“Ultra-modern small boutique hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Sparkling wine, coffee/tea and biscuits available 24/7 in the Lobby area. Rather dark lobby but we had a lovely room - we did pay for one of the larger rooms with a sofa bed for the 3 of us. My daughter loves this hotel, it is her favourite among the 5 hotels we stayed in during our 11 days trip. There was a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us when we arrived, the beds (both the King and sofa bed) were VERY comfortable, nice smallish bathroom, ALL modern amenities.
Nice rooftop bar, but no restaurant. Breakfast served in several nearby restaurants, so you just tell them you are from Brown's - we tried two and loved the food at both restaurants.
Location is wonderful, a few steps from Carmel market and less than 10 mins to the beach. Overall experience very good.

Brown TLV was awesome in my recent experience.

The staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants and daily itineraries that were totally to my taste. The clientele seemed mostly youngish and hip, but not snobby or boisterous.

Facilities were fine indeed with a complimentary gym a block away, a choice of three nearby breakfast spots (included), a spa/ massage area well-executed, and even the two bars were enough. The lobby is ideal for catching up on email or chatting in a comfortable setting.

The neighborhood felt like Soho in New York, El Born in Barcelona, or Palermo in Buenos Aires if that helps -- it did me. US based Leisure Traveller

Dear Andrew E,

Thank you for your kind review.

We were happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and liked our staff as well as the rest of our wonderful guests.

We are glad that you had the chance to enjoy our gym, bar and the rest of our facilities.
Our location is indeed optimal and doesn't stop developing. We appreciate the comparison to some of the hippest neighborhoods all over the world.

We very much look forward welcoming you back.

I took a "relax" suite, and the room was very comfortable. It reminded me of the Hudson hotel in New York, but with more space...but an even more horrible view. We were staring directly, and I mean directly, at a parking lot. Bath products were above-par, and the complimentary wine and evian was appreciated. Best part of the hotel, hands down, was the CONCIERGE SERVICE. I had a series of meetings around Tel Aviv, and the concierge Adam explained where to go and how to get there (so that I would not get screwed over by taxi drivers). He referred me to the BEST local spots (not touristy), got me the best tables with my business partners. I have stayed at the Montifiore Hotel, the Hilton, and the Intercontinental, and the one thing these hotels did not have was a concierge like Adam...if you want a personal assistant during your stay, compliments of the hotel, STAY AT THE BROWN.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Brown TLV. We spent our first night in a classic room, which we found a bit too cosy, and the rest of our holiday in a relax room, which suited us better. Both rooms were immaculately appointed and very comfortable. Every member of staff at the reception was very professional, welcoming, attentive and extremely helpful. Of all the hotels we ever stayed in, they must be the best group of people working in one place! We loved the idea of breakfast at different cafes as they offered a very different experience and atmosphere. The central location in Neve Tzedek allowed us to walk almost anywhere including Old Jaffa. We highly recommend this boutique hotel!

Very good service with helpful and nice crew. the hotel is located in a hip and up coming area of Tel Aviv. Trendy style, cool bar at the top of the hotel, open when warm weather, otherwise it's located next to the reception at entrance level. The rooms are optimized to its maximum but done with style!

In Tel Aviv (2012 Christmas vacations) I first stayed in easy going hotel de la mer (cheap, by the sea) but ended up joining a friend at the Brown. This former bank (!) has recently been changed to an hotel and you can hardly tell/find banknotes under your mattress. They won't take too much out of them out of your wallet either. The decoration is superb, with good pieces of furniture that you would like to take home and smart mix of relaxing colors (except see below "art works") mostly brownish, are you surprised? "Art works" are not exciting (from the top of my mind, they have simply enlarged and posted on walls huge magazine covers with ugly colors). In the lobby/living room there is a large library, part of the decoration, lacking books in other languages than Hebrew, bring your dictionary and start learning the language. I had a bigger room, which wasn't big but bigger than super small basic one. The heating system doesn't work, and they don't tell you, but they provide small heater. You might not care at all as heating is used only a few weeks per year in sun blessed T.A. In the room you are welcomed with complementary chocolates (yummy) and a bottle of local wine. The staff is very kind and helpful. If beautiful and white, front desk, if beautiful and black, cleaning. You know where you stand. Free computer/internet access and free staff browsing the web for you if shame on you too lazy to do that by yourself. Superb terrace (roof top).
One could say this is a "design hotel". Yes and no. Yes as the decoration is superb, no as "design hotels" are usually uninteresting clichés of what people without an eye call "design". They have an eye.

Room Tip: pick up so called bigger room, just a bit more expensive.

Dear Guilliaume c,

Thank you for your kind review.

I am happy that you chose to stay with us this time and that you found our concept and design cool and trendy.

We are glad that you enjoyed the small pampering gifts and amenities and are happy that our team enabled you to be lazy for a day. It is your vacation after all….

As you rightly pointed out, Tel Aviv's summer is quite long, and so we did have to leave our air conditioning running a bit longer due to some very sunny days. Now, that the winter is truly here, I can advise that the heating is fully on.

We look forward seeing you back soon.

Cool interior, very central (close to Neve Tsedek, the beach and Nachalat Benjamin street) and welcoming staff. We were served cava on arrival, which was a great start! The rooftop is excellent - so is the lobby area. The standard rooms are very small and the housekeeping was not the best - that's the only drawback.
