Our 2-night stay at the Shalom capped off a wonderful 12-night vacation in Israel. We LOVED this luxurious boutique hotel and recommend it highly.
Location.....excellent....we love to walk and thoroughly enjoyed the delightful walk on the beach promenade all the way down to Old Jaffa....also nicely located taking the shorter walk north to the Port area for dinner.
Rooms....since we were only staying for two nights, and these were our last two nights in Israel, we sprung for the Superior room.....clean, spacious, modern with great bathroom/showers.....having previously stayed at the Harmony in Jerusalem for 4 nights, I’m sure the standard room would have been fine.....but this room allowed us to spread our suitcases without difficulty...and had a lovely view of the Mediterranean from our window....
Food.....Breakfast.....a feast....similarly excellent to what we’d experienced at the Harmony in Jerusalem....just better....and the afternoon hors d’hoeuvres......outstanding.....with wine and drinks offered to take up to the delightful rooftop balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea....comfortable and private tables and chairs.....fabulous!
Staff and Welcome Desk....I’ve been to plenty of good boutique hotels in my day....but I can’t remember any that I would rate above this hotel.....I only wish I could remember the various names of the staff at the Shalom....each and every person at this hotel made us feel like royalty....I’m not exaggerating....from the moment we arrived, they treated us like family and couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful.....showing us around the hotel, presenting our room and guiding us with sites and restaurants on the Tel Aviv map.....trust me that whatever I write here does not do them justice....we’ve stayed in other hotels in Israel and Europe and the Shalom is #1.....the day we checked out, our last day in Israel, was still a full day for us.....no problem to store all our luggage.....also a gratuitous invite to come back in the afternoon to enjoy the hors d’hoeuvres and rest on the rooftop balcony (we didn’t take advantage of this, but the offer was made without hesitation).
Value....this is not an inexpensive hotel....and price is an important consideration for us..... but even in the Superior Room (which cost about 15% more than the Standard Room) we felt we had terrific value for our two night stay here.....without question I would stay here again if we return to Tel Aviv.

Thank you for your extensive and kind review of the Shalom Hotel & Relax. We greatly appreciate your warm and sincere comments. We are glad you found our central location to be so easily accessible and your room so inviting. We are pleased you enjoyed our varied breakfast assortment at our hotel as well as the Harmony Hotel in Jerusalem (also part of the Atlas Boutique Hotels chain). Thank you for your praise of our hard working reception staff. We are very appreciative of your compliments and are happy we were able to accommodate you during your stay with us. We look forward to your next visit with us in Tel Aviv.
