“A Boutique Hotel with really nice touches situated steps from the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

The staff was very friendly and offered service and conversation easily. The breakfast was great and the delicious happy hour hors d'oeuvres are very nicely prepared and displayed. There is a roof-top terrace with sea view as well as a deck in front of the hotel with comfortable seating.
The beach is minutes away with cafes, bars, and restaurants of all varieties and quality. The rooms are small but very comfortable and with the usual amenities. In this locale you don't spend much time in your room anyway.

I have stayed there for three nights, its the second time I chose this hotel. Very good location, just a very short walk from the beach and very near avenues with cafes. Most of the employees are great, specially Avi and the lady from the breakfast that she is looking if you need help or convincing you of having eggs for breakfast, very hospitality, you feel at home. The rest of the staff is just ok, if you need help, try to reach the friendly staff. If you need to go to the beach they give you towels and water.
The room is nice, just need s a little bit of more cleaning, but I am a very strict client, maybe for most of the guests is just ok. Be aware that not all the rooms are spacious enough, so check at the lobby before.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room not facing Hayarkon street and a big one!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your positive review. We appreciate your recommendation and we will let Avi know about your kind compliments. We are happy to hear you were pleased with the hotel overall. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel that every single one of our staff was equally helpful. It is always our main goal to provide the most helpful service to all of our guests so that they may have the most enjoyable and comfortable stay as possible. Perhaps in this case we did not express these traits in a manner strongest enough for you to be aware of. Therefore, on your next visit we hope we are able to show you the friendly and helpful service from all our staff which we are known for. We thank you for choosing the Shalom Hotel and Relax and we look forward to welcoming you back.

The staff was great, the room was small but very comfortable and with very well equipped.
The breakfast was great. It's near the beach and to some of the best restaurants and bars in Tel Aviv (Dizengof and Ben Yehuda streets).
The terrace is the place to relax in a warm summer night.
I definetly recommend this Hotel.

Room a little bit small but decorated with taste.
Staff very friendly, dedicated and efficient.
Recommend strongly for a trip to Tel Aviv!

I had done a lot of research before picking our accommodation in Tel Aviv and I have to say that I was very disappointed with this hotel. From my negative experiences, it certainly did not meet the expectations I had based on other reviews, nor did I think it was worth the high room rate!
Our tiny room was filthy! When we arrived, there were hairs in the bathroom sink, mould on the bath, stained pillows and the carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed for at least six months! I was revolted to stand on it with bare feet. There was about a half inch layer of dust that was visible under the bed and stray hairs and stains next to the bed.
I did not find the staff at either the reception area or the wait staff at breakfast to be particularly friendly either.
The only positives were proximity to the beach and a gourmet breakfast.
Next time, I will book somewhere cleaner and cheaper with bigger rooms, friendlier staff and use the money saved to buy a luxurious breakfast outside the hotel!

This hotel is a BOUTIQUE. Its attention to detail is spectacular. Accomodations are intimate and spotless. Common areas are tended to with GREAT detail. You will come across a staff that is absolutely customer centric and willing to do so much.
Housekeeping is PRISTINE and PROUD. Location is GREAT for walking and discovering.
BREAKFASTS are OVER THE MOON! Service staff is lovely and accomodating.

You will regret not experiencing this GEM! I know, I am an Executive with a large 200+ hospitality company in the USA and we are the finest in service. This hotel is a GREAT fit to our excellent business model.

Room Tip: Rooms are as I mentioned intimate, but flawless! It's in Tel Aviv, an urban area. A city...Get...

From walk-in to check-out, our Shalom experience was top-notch. Pros: pleasant and knowledgeable desk staff and breakfast room staff; wonderful breakfast selection and quality; beautiful room and bath with good bed, AC and shower; walk to the beach (one block) and restaurants at the Tel Aviv port. Cons: only one -- it is a long hike to the other end of central Tel Aviv (Neveh Tsedek, Jaffa). Took about an hour to walk down to Jaffa.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased to read that you had a wonderful stay with us and enjoyed yourself in Tel Aviv. Regarding your walk to Jaffa everyone has their own pace of walking and we hope the hour walk was enjoyable for you however on average the walk usually takes most guests anywhere from 20 minutes to half hour. Taking advantage of our free bikes is always a great way to enjoy the boardwalk while shorting your travel time as well. However as you may have noticed Tel Aviv is a rather small city and although we are under a 10 minute walk to the center we are slightly further from the south end. But for your next visit please know that there are quick and convenient number 4 sherut taxi buses. The ride should take no longer than 10 minutes, and it will take you right to the end of Allenby which is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Neve Tzedek. We hope this helps you for your next visit and we look forward to welcoming you back.
