5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

from the moment we arrived we could tell this was a lovely hotel.the staff and the ambience was great.we chose a superior room which was larger as the basic room is very small but beautifully appointed .the sun deck is luxuriously furnished and the happy hour consisted of a very generous spread of food and drink.

Room Tip: we chose a back room which was very quiet but no view, but we didn t want to be on the main road and...

Room was immaculate, bed was comfortable. Coming to the Shalom Hotel from the Mamilla Hotel in Jerusalem put the hotel at a disadvantage, as the Mamilla service was impeccable. It is a small, boutique hotel. Rooms are great.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a clean hotel and know how to get around, this is a perfect place. If you are...

Amazing I have never stayed in such a lovely hotel. Helpful kind staff who all spoke English, amazing breakfast & lovely room plus free 15 min massage everyday up on the roof. I cannot praise it enough.

Room Tip: Room 11 or 12

My wife and I have just returned after 10 days at the Shalom and Relax Hotel, Tel Aviv.
The rooms though smaller than others are really comfortable. Superb linens and supremely comfortable beds.
Superb Israeli breakfasts are the norm and refills are available untill you are stuffed. service from all the staff was exemplary and even tho' there is no swimming pool, the roof terrace is more than adequate.
'Happy hour' from 17.00 till 19.00 hrs is a super touch which others may emulate but not equal.
The tea selection from normal to herbal is for your use anytime, with hot water from a samovar.

Room Tip: Ground floor for disabled. Higher floors are easily accessed as there are only 4 floors. Quiet roo...

We had such a wonderful time at shalom and relax. We got married in Israel and this hotel is our choice hotel. Stayed in the jacuzzi room which we were too busy to use but had a good space to hang my dress! The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful. Simonna was like a mother, always assuring we were eating and comfortable and happy! I can't fault the hotel. I look forward to coming back one day :)

Was here part of a group on a trip to Tel Aviv. The hotel is small and charming, just across the Hilton and a 5 minutes walk from beach and the adjacent bar and restaurants.
Rooms are not too big, but the bathroom was very spacious and a nice tub. The hotel has a few perks that are a real plus:
*happy hour daily (17-19?) with complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby/breakfast area
*great terrace on the roof with couches and stretchers
*free Wi-Fi and online access on the TV-screen computer in the room.

This is a boutique hotel located at the north end of the Tel Aviv promenade/boardwalk. It is across the street from the Hilton and the Beach. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and to the new port area which is filled with shops, restaurants and cafes. It is a short and easy cab ride to all of the tourist sites, neighborhoods and markets.....or a good but doable walk!

The hotel is part of the Atlas Chain which specializes in boutique properties all over Israel. On our two week trip we stayed in this property and in the top rated Harmony in jerusalem. The Shalom offers even better quality and sevice than the Harmony. The lobby/reception/eating/lounge area is beautiful, decorated carefully and maintained perfectly. Upon arrival guests are greeted by the manager with a snack and liquer and treated as if they are the most special people to arrive all day! Each room is also carefully decorated and the amenties are top notch: best in any location in Israel. There is a rooftop lounge with mini-massages offered throughout the day. The cocktail hour is great with champagne, scotch and another liquer offered as well as excellent snacks. Towels and water are provided for the beach. The manager, Ari, indicated that the breakfast was the best in Israel....we thought he was perhaps exaggerating a bit ......but in fact, it was!
The only complaint was the size of the rooms we were assigned. We paid for standard rooms as the website said they were 15sq. meters, minimum. Our room was only 11.3 square meters (as we were told by management). It was well laid out with a place to put one bag and a closet. However, our traveling companions had a slightly larger room with no where to unpack. The hotel manager was very apologetic about assigning us such small rooms and assured us that he would upgrade us upon our return at the end of the trip. The hotel was full and he was unable to do anything on the first stay. He was true to his word and on our return we were given suites facing the mediterranean with Jacuzzis! Those rooms are fabulous.
I highly recommend the shalom but, unless size and the ability to unpack is not an issue, suggest that you book a superior room or a standard family triple (on the first floor). With a larger room (11 sq. meters is ridiculous) this hotel is a fabulous choice for the location, service, decor, amenities and total experience.
Also, thanks to Chantal and Isram/Regent Travel Advisors who recommended this location and ensured that our needs were met!

Room Tip: Many of the standard rooms are tiny: a bit more than 11 square meters. Unless size and the ability...
