“The Perfect Place to Stay in Tel Aviv”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

My partner and I spent nine days in Tel Aviv at The Diaghilev Live Art Hotel in April 2014. The hotel is perfectly located, just two blocks off the lively Rothschild Blvd, and not far from Shienken Street and the fun Carmel Market. Our one-bedroom suite was very large and comfortable with large windows. The hotel has a lovely bar/cafe on site, and they have different lectures on interesting topics every week. The staff here is outstanding! From the moment we walked in the front door we were treated with such wonderful friendliness and helpfulness. We felt right at home and instantly fell in love with the staff. They had terrific suggestions for places to go, how to best get to Jerusalem without a car, and many other helpful suggestions. The owner is a delightful, energetic woman who also sings and writes her own music, and she performed a lovely concert for us in the lounge, as she does every Monday night. I could not have asked for a better experience. This was our first trip to Israel, and the staff at The Diaghilev helped make it an amazing one. We have definite plans to return to Israel, and will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great experience here on my first trip to Tel Aviv, clearly shared by many other guests who have submitted reviews. Amazing staff who are ridiculously friendly and helpful and clearly enjoy their work. Nothing was too much trouble, including plentiful nightlife recommendations. Hotel itself is in an awesome location to enjoy the best of a fun, cool city. Rooms nicely styled, not sure about the black sheets but just a personal preference. Will definitely return on my next business trip.

I spent 5 nights here in April '14. I was traveling initially with my 20 year old son and then solo.
The Diaghilev is the perfect place to stay in Tel Aviv.
Location: 10-15 mins walk from all the restaurants and bars on Rothschild and Neve Tzedek. Quiet and picturesque street.
Rooms: the suites are large, bright, simply but elegantly furnished with nice balconies and basic kitchen amenities.
Ambiance: understated artsy. The Backroom bar/cafe is a great place to chill over a lazy breakfast or a glass of wine. Or get solicited to audition for a TV commercial that was casting one day in the hotel :)
But the key reason to stay here are the staff. I can't say enough about how warm, helpful and competent they are. My son's baggage and laptop were confiscated/lost by El AL and it was a nightmare trying to find someone live to speak to. The front desk staff helped enormously.
They also have great suggestions for dinner, arts, beaches etc.
Big shout out to Karin, Miriam, Teddy, Sivan, Erez and Ayelet (apologies to anyone I forgot).
I'm definitely coming back to Tel Aviv and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: 502 looked west and was beautiful late afternoon.

We (couple with young child) spent our first night in Israel at The Diaghilev beg-April, and that was an INCREDIBLE start. We were welcomed by the staff, which offered us complementary drinks and has personally shown our lovely suite. Room was pretty and spacious, with a large balcony. Breakfast served until 2pm (!), though rather small (salad, coffee and juice if I am not mistaken) when compared when similar range hotels. Location was great, one block away from Rothschild boulevard and 15' walk from the beaches. Underground parking was available for all guests at 15USD/day. Overall great experience, will definitely book The Diaghilev again when back to Tel-Aviv!

My girlfriend and I stayed there for only one night and wished we had booked the place for the entire stay. I travel to Tel Aviv frequently and I'll continue to stay here in the future. I can't say enough great things about this hotel! The staff, location, decor, bar, value, rooms...everything is top notch!

Great hotel with spacious rooms. Perfect location within Tel Aviv. Staff is super helpful, we were pointed to great restaurants. They serve a delicious breakfast (yoghurt with granola with honey, bread with marmalade, salad).
On the down side we've had some minor issues with wifi quality.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Nespresso machine.

What a great way to start our Israeli adventure! We were greeted with super-friendly front desk folks 3/24/14 and it didn’t take more than a minute or so to check in, but they took the extra time to tell us about the area and best places to eat (the hotel is ideally situated close to Rothschild but far enough away from traffic and noise). Our room was a suite with a spacious living room with flat screen TV and bedroom with king bed. There were lots of power outlets throughout the suite, Dead Sea toiletries in the bathroom, and water and orange juice cooling in the frig. From our 4th floor room we could even see a sliver of the sea. Diaghilev exceeded our expectations as did the restaurant in its sister hotel, Rothschild – talk about great food and service!
