“WENT FOR DINNER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

Wow - French Vietnamese cuisine in Israel!!
The waiting staff were quite possibly the best I have ever had.
The atmosphere is just like a hotel bar in those Bogart movies (without the smoke).
Really nice intimate setting, there is also some seating outside on a small terrace,
Just about the best boutique dining experience you could imagine.
Try the beef salad - awesome!

My husband and I just returned from a vacation in Israel. We had originally booked the Tel Aviv Hilton because we thought it was the "best" in Tel Aviv. After speaking with my cousin who lives in Israel, we booked the Hotel Montefiore. She had heard that it was a special place. It is more than special.
The hotel is located in the heart of Tel Aviv in a wonderful neighborhood. We walked everywhere, even to Jaffa. Restaurants are on every block and the hotel restaurant is superb.
The staff is professional, friendly, caring, energetic and makes you feel like royalty. Each guest is assigned a staff member to take care of anything you might need.
Since the hotel is a renovated Bauhaus style building, each room (I think there are only 12 rooms) is different. We stayed in two rooms, since we checked out for a day to go to Masada and returned to a different room. The beds are so comfortable, the rooms are quiet and spotless, the decor is beautiful, the bathrooms are modern and gorgeous and there is a library in each room.
There is a very lively bar, an elegant restaurant and a lovely front porch to enjoy coffee or a cocktail.
The hotel is not on the beach, but they will pack a beach bag for you with everything you might need and bring you to the beach where you will have a lounge waiting for you. We did not go to the beach because there is so much more to do in Tel Aviv. We did however walk to the beach on our way to Jaffa.
The hotel also provides its guests with a pass to a nearby fitness center.
The cost of the room was less than the Hilton, which made us very happy.
This hotel is a gem!

I live in Tel-Aviv, so I had brunch at this lovely hotel many times.
The brunch is perfect, and the place is gorgeous so I always wondered about the hotel. when a friend of mine from the US insisted on staying there when she came to Tel-Aviv I got to spend one night there and it was everything I thought it would be. Gorgeous, stylish room, just perfect. I will highly recommend it for anyone who can afford it (as it’s a bit pricey) the location is perfect just at the heart and close to many attractions, but yet located in a quiet area. You can also come only for breakfast, brunch or dinner and enjoy the food and the ambiance. - Perfect!

We stayed here for a couple of nights in September. Have to say that we really enjoyed it. Small and cosy but well-designed. Good atmosphere downstairs in the bar and restaurant. When we missed breakfast the staff got the kitchen just to cook up some things for us as a replacement. Loved the rooms with the big TV and all the books. One of the nights we just stayed in and watched a movie in bed, it was great. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Tel Aviv.

The Montefiore has all it takes to be a superb boutique hotel, but the staff reek of pretentiousness and they lick up to all kinds of Israeli faux celebs, they forget us the ordinary people. Nothing justifies the room or restaurant exorbitant prices (except maybe to keep the proletariat away). They are by all means way too expensive for what this place really is worth. Being trendy does not justify rudeness or neglect and the high prices scare people away, (well at least me).

I love this hotel. It is in a fantastic part of Tel Aviv (the White city). The restaurant is one of the best in Tel Aviv. The rooms are very comfortable. But most importantly, the staff is wonderful. They treated me like one of the family. I really never felt more comfortable in a hotel. I was on my own for five days in Tel Aviv. I know the city pretty well and have many friends and staying at the Montefiore made me feel like I was really living in Tel Aviv.
