“Pricey, but hey chef restaurant yet nothing outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We went for a friday night family dinner, most restaurants are packed and difficult to book a place.
The resturant has been refurbished, all the dark bown wooden furniture giving it a moody hotel lobby feel is gone to give place to what today's trend is called "simple chic". Well the moody feel is still there with simple looking yet designer dining tables and chairs with occasional sofas in front of the windows giving view to the sea. I'm sure in daytime, the view is amazing. But the place still has no buzz.
The food, well the food is good, not good value but Hey, this is a chef resturant, The dishes are well done, with a bit of a homely taste, a bit on the heavy side with all the butter. Cannot say anything wrong about them, only nothing was amazing, different, I mean stands out, again this is a chef restaurant, Desert didn't come to expectation, very valuable chocolate put on frozen ice cream which had taken away the smoothness of one of valrhona's very special milk chocolates
Like the food service is good but not really there.

“desappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

I used to go to Raphael ( in Dan Hotel) because the place and the food were so enjoyable... The place is still great ( I love the bar for smokers) but the food is just poor : not bad but not tasty and expensive (especially wine and alccols) Once their couscous was great and so were fish. Couscous was nothing to write about and fish with pilpel cream wasn't good .The desert (petits fours) was ok. I heard they have problems with their sous-chefs . anyway, it s a pity...!
