“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Nice area -the hotel is basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and more than enough- The only problem was that we could hear the move from the nextdoor moviehouse so try and ask for a room that is not on the same side- if you are looking for a good sleep, hot shower and a ample breakfas you, won't be disappointed!!

A pleasantly located, reasonably priced hotel in Jerusalem. The rooms have all the basics you need, but can be very noisy.

I have stayed here twice, due to the hotel's situation close to a relative whom I visit, and who doesn't have space to put me up. On the first occasion, my room was right over a cinema: all I needed was a screen to understand the whole film. I complained, and got moved for subsequent nights. The new room was mercifully peaceful - but very cold (that was in December). I had to ask for help in turning the heating on.

On the second occasion (recently), I was near the stairs: so lots of noise as adults and children went up and down before settling down for the night. There's no carpeting anywhere, so the sounds of footfalls reverberate on the wooden floors! Once everybody had gone to bed, it was quiet - until early the next morning: the room's walls were very thin: in the morning I was regaled with hearing endless mobile phone conversations from the woman in the next room (sadly, only her side of the conversation most of the time - though on occasion she put one of her communicants at the other end on speaker phone!) To be fair, the worst noise from my neighbour was in my (rather small) bathroom.

Again I asked to be moved, but this time was told the hotel was full and there was no other room available.

The food is reasonable (breakfasts included): a pleasant buffet spread. No real coffee, however.

This is a convenient "no-frills" budget option for anyone wanting to stay in the German Colony, but with dawbacks!

Room Tip: My recommendation is: have a good look at the room and its surroundings before you confirm your stay...

i stay here when visiting jerusalem. location is great, very convenient to everything. very clean, very friendly place. although the rooms are small and plain, they have tasteful details which make up for the sparse room. Breakfast is more than acceptable. tea and coffee always available. very safe place to stay.

Nice hotels, the location is great !!! near the old city (By walking).
The room was small, but if you just need a plac to sleep and travel most of the day, it is definitely satisfied.
Breakfast is simple and nice.
*We stayed there at the middle weak. Don't know how is the service and breakfast on Saturday (Sabbath issue...)

The hotel is very sweet and small, very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were very clean. we stayed in a room that has a small balcony with a view over rooftops and trees which was lovely.
Breakfast was served downstairs and it was very israeli with a selection of salads, cornflakes and cheese. Tea, coffee and juice were also freely available.

The location was excellent. A twenty minute walk from the old city in a very quiet part of town with none of the noise or pollution of the old city.

All in all, lovely stay!

Room Tip: Room 22 :)

We had a 2 day stay here as a family. The location is convenient, on some of Jerusalem's nicest streets, and the interior of the hotel is attractive and fairly quaint. The staff were friendly and helpful and on hand 24 hours a day. Breakfast was quite average, compared to the Israeli standard of more fresh salads and choice, but sufficient. The rooms were a bit "tired" and not well finished. Overall it worked well as the place was pleasant and well located, but I wouldn't stay there for the hotel itself.
