“It doesn't get any better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

The hotel is difficult to find, as it is in a pedestrianised area, but if you take the telephone number with you and give it to your taxi driver, they will direct him to the best place to stop, send a buggy to meet you at the kerbside and transport you with your luggage to the hotel. The location is excellent, in easy walking distance of the Old City. Although it has no restaurant, it is surrounded by restaurants and cafes of all kinds, many open on Shabat. The 'boutique' label is well deserved, as it is beautifully styled in early C19th colonial style, whilst being a brand new hotel with every modern facility. Our room was spacious; the bed was huge with separate mattresses and duvets. I thought this a brilliant idea, my husband didn't! We got the walk-in shower we had asked for, and a portable grip made this accessible for my mobility-impaired husband. We also took a small mobility scooter with us, which was perfect for exploring the new city, but the surprisingly the tourist board also publishes a booklet with 4 accessible routes in the Old City. There was no view to speak of. Service here is superb. Every member of staff, from the chambermaid up, is friendly and willing to go the extra mile. We felt cherished. And the breakfasts! Delicious, huge selection of Israeli salads, pastries, fruits, grains, home-made chutneys, jams, biscuits -Mmmmm

Room Tip: There is a fully accessible room, but we managed perfectly well with a walk-in shower room and a por...

In the future, we will only stay at the Arthur Hotel when in Jerusalem. I have rarely met such an efficient and patient person as Yasmin, a multi-tasker par excellence. Our experience at this hotel was stellar. The location, the ambiance, the attention to detail, everything to make guests comfortable has been put in place with care. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The "happy hour" each evening was an extra bonus. We could walk to most sights easily, or take the tram only a block away.

I can't recall receiving better service at any hotel. All of the people at the front desk were first rate, managing my many requests--dinner reservations, cabs, and more. In particular Yasmin helped me set up my tours etc. before I arrived, so that I was able to squeeze in everything I wanted to see in a fairly short time. Everything else written by other reviewers was true for me too. Thanks to everyone there for a terrific time.

Great 7 night stay at the Arthur Hotel. Super location in the center of the city - easy walk to the old city, restaurants, shopping, and light rail. The room was well laid out, clean and had a nice appeal. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the evening happy hour was a nice touch.

The Arthur Hotel is located in a pedestrian only area, making it a bit hard to locate considering the street itself is a very short crescent (make sure you get directions or have a good gps). Hotel is attractive, room (306) was well appointed for an Israeli hotel, while on the smaller side. Hotels are pricey in general. Happy hour and the impressive breakfast buffet set in the attractive lobby area and garden space was generous. Superseding the amenities was the most helpful and courteous reception staff, particularly Dana, who went above and beyond her duties to help us with a few contingencies.

The hotel is off of Jaffa Street, an area that is younger and vibrant. Sat night a bit too vibrant, I suggest ear plugs if you're on the street side of the bldg. The other evenings were fine over our 3 day stay. It's a easy downhill walk to the New Gate or the Jaffa Gate to explore the Old Town of Jerusalem.

Located perfectly. Close to Old Jerusalem and market. Nice restaurants and shopping very close. The staff very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were in excellent condition with nice decor. I also had balcony. If weather is bad they have gulf cart to bring you from taxi drop off. There street is closed to cars. It's short walk in any case. I just happened to arrive when it was pouring. A rare occurrence I was told.

It is a very nice, elegant, centrally located hotel and it offers a lot of comforts for customers. Our room was quite spacious with a huge double bed, the bathroom was also very comfortable (shower, water temperature, space/shelves, products). There were an excellent breakfast and free happy hour buffet from 5 to 7 pm which was quite appreciated especially when coming back from a long intense day. The staff was nice, kind and helpful in giving suggestions and information.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian road (which is why it is quiet) therefore if you have a car you can't stop directly in front of the hotel. However, you have to walk only few meters to get to the main road. Also, they have a private underground parking place in a hotel nearby, and the parking is free.
I would go back to this place
The only thing was that the temperature in the dining room (breakfast and happy hour) was a little bit too low especially if compared to the nicely warm reception nearby. This was just a little uncomfortable especially in the afternoon because the temperature was quite cold outside and you would need a warm place to relax.
