“Experience that is unmatched”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

The tunnels are amazing but they also are very popular so make a reservation early (maybe before you leave the country). The tunnels themselves reveal a world that can only be seen through the tunnel tour but don't expect the experience to be without some challenges. The tunnels have a great deal of water running through lime stone as such there is a great deal of mold that would not be as noticeable for those without allergies or breathing issues. The tunnels range from wide to very narrow so know your limits. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and you will see more of the original temple then you could above ground. Where good shoes with good grip (some stairs and inclines) and bring a sweater as it can be cooler in the tunnels.

“A spiritual experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

It is a guided tour that takes you as close as you can get to the holy of holies of the Second Temple. The guided tour bridges 2000 years and brings to life the magnitude and majesty of the Temple

“I loved this tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

I honestly did not know what to expect and almost chose to skip this tour. However, it turned out to be great. In fact , I consider it one of the highlights of my trip to Israel. The guide was excellent. The many layers , literally and figuratively of Jerusalem are impossible to grasp from a distance and difficult to comprehend when there. Like other archeological sites, this puts you face to face with what is literally just under the surface. The tour took about 90 minutes but I could have spent all day absorbing what was there. It looked like a great deal more work was being done, so I expect that when I come back even more will have been dug out and new interesting findings will be visible. If you can fit it into your schedule, do this tour. You do need a reservation so plan in advance.

“Interesting tour”

One not to be missed, although our guide couldn't resist indulging in some fairly political anti-Palestinian jibes throughout the tour. Unnecessary.

“Interesting tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

The tunnel tour provided an interesting and worthwhile historical framework from which to understand the role and importance of the western wall, The significance of the location, how the area on which the temple mount was built, and its evolution through time was explained clearly and logically using both structural models and explanations. Each tour leaves from the Jewish quarter, proceeds underground, and exits in the Arab quarter. The groups are large and the space underground limited and confining. In order to keep up with the group it is sometimes difficult to read the informational materials that are posted in some of the areas. Anyone with a fear of tight and restricted spaces should probably avoid this tour. Well worth the fee for anyone interested in antiquity, archeology, religion, and biblical history.
