“Visit to the holy land”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Some excavation work was going on and the place was crowded with tourists and a lot of people were putting pray request already written on papers inside crevices in the wall because everybody believe that God presence was at the wall because of its history, so a lot of people were there praying. What I did not like was the crowd despite the fact we got there early, I guess the place is a popular tourist attraction

“Great place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This is a must place so do try and visit. It requires advance reservations quite a long time ahead but definately worth it.
The guides are very good and so is the demonstration.

“The Western Wall Tunnels - Cool and Fun!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I noticed on here that many people said you had to get tickets or order tickets. Well I went with a tour group and didn't have to plan anything. I have no idea how much anything cost - we went to lots and lots of national parks, museums, Masada, and other attractions in Israel and we just all walked in and were led right on through. So when we stealthily went to this tunnel in the cloak of darkness around 7 p.m. at night, we just walked in. Payment had already been prearranged I guess. I never had to worry about that kind of stuff. I went through Inspired Travel and it was amazing - we didn't have to worry about anything. We were certainly a pampered bunch having the time of our lives in Israel!! But anyways the tunnel was really awesome - it goes under the Temple Mount.

“For all to experience, a must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Devout or archaeologically minded, this is a must, not to be confused with the wailing or Western Wall above ground. The entrance and booking office to the underground tunnels are signposted and lies adjacent to the wailing wall. Book via your hotel or direct by going there or calling (Western Wall Tunnel Foundation), it doesn't matter if the tour is at night since the tunnels are lit anyway, and would advise to book ahead or at beginning of your visit and with a tour guide in the relevant language. It's 15 shekels per person so reasonably priced, under £3 or $5 (at the time of exchange and not exact) and lasts an hour and a half. Take a light cardigan or long sleeve or shawl as its cool. The models used and tour guides are excellent and bring to life the underground walls that had surrounded the second temple and the surrounds with 2000 years of history and the result of 30 years of excavations. There is a street from the time of King Herod, with an unfinished bit of building work that the tour walks through, amazing.
