“tasty treat in Jerusalem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Based on other TripAdvisor reviews we decided to try this restaurant for a moderately priced dinner and we were not disappointed! The friendly owner waited on us and was happy to explain the menu to us as tourists unfamiliar with Yemenite food. The Jabuchan (I'm probably saying this wrong but it is a carbohydrate roll of some sort he said is popular at breakfast) was fabulous and should not be missed! We had the turkey schwaya dish with traditional spices - yummy. Too full for dessert so we had to pass that up. If you are looking for a good value in a touristy area, this is the place. We saw locals there as well - always a good sign! Kosher to boot, if you care about that.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Just returned from an extended trip to Israel and Jordan. As students of Jewish Yemenite history, we were looking for a place that captures traditional kosher Yemenite dishes. The food and service are unbelievably great. We cannot add any more superlatives about the food without repeating what has already been written. What was really impressive is that the owner (Avi Kappach) and his wife made sure we didn't "over order" even though the prices were more than reasonable. Not many business owners in the highly competitive Jerusalem restaurant scene would do this and showed a very high level integrity.

During our discussion of Yemenite Jewish silversmiths prior to 1950, we mentioned the Busani family. Avi noted that his rabbi was a Busani and that I bore a striking resemblance to him. Having seen pictures of the Busani family, I would have to agree.

The food, the conversation and atmosphere all blended together to provide an extraordinary dining experience.

“Nice Little Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Came in here after seeing some people eating in the street. The food was really good and was not expensive either. I was after something different and this place was perfect. The staff were great too as we chatted away for sometime about the city and travel in general. Worth a visit!

“Nice owners and delightful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We loved the food and the friendly and extremely helpful staff. We enjoyed various Yemeni meals and especially their soups. We normally try not to repeat a restaurant when we travel, but this one warranted multiple return visits. Try it, you'll like it.
