“The Workshop / Hasadna - one of the best restaurants in Jerusalem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We went to try the Sadna for the first time on a Saturday evening.

The Sadna is located at the old Jerusalem train station, which seemed a little abandoned but is promised to be populated with more culinary and cultural attractions. While the exterior of a hangar was a bit unwellcoming, I really liked the interior design, and the place had a good fine dining atmosphere.

For starters we shared a dish of Veal tonsils on Polenta. Absolutely delicious. It is accompanied with a sweet red wine sauce which I kept scooping even after the tonsils were long gone.

For the main dish, we ordered a home-made sausage mix for me and a plate of Seafood mix for her.

The sausages were excellent - exploding with juicy, meaty tastes. The mix was reccomended by the waiteress, and it includes three sausages - pork, beef and spicy. Per my request, I got three beef sausages. The dish is escorted by potatos in butter, some raddish and mustard. For those of you who are Israelis, the taste resembled that of the excellent sausages in Beta Caffe, Tel Aviv.

The Seafood mix was a huge dish, definitely justifying the price (25$), and the seafood offering was very diverse. Some of it was more tasty, some less... but hey, it's no incidence that the nearest shore is an hour's drive away.

All in all, we were very satisfied - and full. We will definitely come back for more!

“Terrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

We were a party of 11.

We ordered starters, which were quite good, came quite quick.
The iceberg salad was nice as well as the mixed seafood in pita bread.

That was the peak of the evening.

We waited for almost an hour for the main dishes. From this part there was basically almost no service by the staff. They were practically gone.
Do not expect a service such as filling water glasses or making sure you are comfortable.

When the main dishes finallly arrived, they were served one by one to the table (not together), making people wait until all of them arrives.

One main course was forgotten by the staff, we had to wait for the waitress for several minutes until she showed up.

Nobody told us when the missing dish will be ready.
We asked for the bill, of course the missing dish was on it.
The manager argued about it. We stopped arguing, paid the bill and left.

The worst ever experience i have had in a resturant.

Thinking that this resturant has one of the best public relations in Jerusalem. Unfortunately there is a gap betweeen the service the press is getting than reality.

“Fabulous Bar Mitzvah Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We booked Hasadna for our Son's Celebration dinner. The food was BEYOND our expectations. Each dish brought out was OUTSTANDING!, full of amazing flavors and fresh herbs! We especially loved the fish entrees and Rump Steak. The starters and salads were also delicious. I can HONESTLY say Hasadna's food was the best we had during our entire 3 weeks in Israel.
The atmosphere is very hip-trendy, and the patio made a wonderful candle light dinner. The service was excellent, and price VERY reasonable. This is a MUST try!

“Great place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We stayed at the Dan boutique hotel which is just a cross the road
We had a place on the bar.
The place has great decor and atmosphere, with open kitchen an nice ambient.

We went for cocktails (around 40 nis )and the tasting menu (180 nis per guest)

Cocktails were very nice!
The food just kept coming, I think they brought us the complete menu. No chance you end up hungry afterwards.
The dishes were between very nice to avarege ( the risotto had too much cheese)
But the whole atmosphere was great.
The bar tender kept giving us drink shots through the all evening, so staying so close to the resturant was appreciated.

Truly recommended!
