“It is a must for those that are aware that the history can be repeated”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Yad Vashem it is not a place that you can like or dislike. It is a place that leaves a scare on your soul: it is a warning on what the humans, civilized humans cand do to other humans. Who goes to Yad Vashem might understand why the Jewish people are fighting for their land and country. Israel is the only shelter they have and the fact that the islamic terrorists are doing their best to destroy it should be a clear sign that Israel should be defend it not only by the Jews but also by all those defending democracy and the western was of life.

“Essential visit for any trip to Israel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

A visit to Yad Vashem is extremely moving and emotional. If you visit Israel, you must visit this site.

They have recently upgraded the memorial and it is a harrowing walk through time.

I would recommend that you spare at least 3 hours to properly read all of the information and to visit all the sites. I also recommend that you take plenty of tissues with you as you will feel extremely emotional many times during your tour.

You will see lots of school children and newly inducted soldiers in the IAF also visiting the site, and although it is often crowded, there is very little noise made by these visitors.

I highly recommend Yad Vashem as a must see when visiting Israel.

“A "Must See"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

This isn't an easy place to visit, but it should be included on all itineraries. Allow at least three hours to do it right. There are dairy and meat restaurants on the premises. You'll want to have some quiet time after your visit. I believe it's fairly accessible via the light rail.

“A History Lesson you wont soon forget”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The museum starts in dramatically by showing a short film of people that disappear in and out of the film. A foretelling of what's to come. I thought i knew about the Holocaust. This museum is an eye opener. There are actual artifacts and videos of horrible things being done to the Jewish people. It tells many personal stories and chronicles the horrific atrocities that went on leading up to, during, and after World War II. It's a very sombering experience, but one that should be witnessed by all. At the end of the tour there is uplifting stories and a beautiful view of the valley below signifying a fresh start and good things to come. My heart broke as I went through this museum, but I wouldn't have it any other way. A start reminder of man's inhumanity to each other, but also a story of perserverence, survival and ultimate rebuilding of lives, familes and dreams
