“Worth seeing !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A bit disappointed here as the church where Mary Magdelene was laid to rest, the garden is tiny with very small but very old olive trees .

“A very nice garden, with Biblical associatons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Like many Christian pilgrimage sites, this one may be not the exact location where the New Testament events took place. However, what you come here for is emotion, and belongs to the realm of spirituality - not scientific truth, right? If you know the Christ's story, and feel fascinated by it - your heart will sank the very moment you step through the door and see the magnificent olive trees, the oldest of which is 920 years old this year. I did not expect the garden to be so small; but it does radiate serenity and, - well, - holiness... As for the crouds - last time when I took my daughter there it was almost the closing time already, so there were not too many visitors. We spent some time inside the Church of All Natons watching the service which was going on.

“Place where Jesus prayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The garden of Gethsemane is the place where Jesus went after the last supper to pray. The garden still has very old olive trees, some over 1,000 years old. The chuch is beautiful and has many domes that have been paid for by a variety of countries. It should not be missed.

“See 2,000 year-old Olive trees!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Visit this historic site where it is believed Jesus spent his last night praying. There are actual 2,000 year old olive trees still alive in this garden, so these may be the very trees that Jesus walked through as He prayed that night.

Inside the church is a stone which is believed to be the stone upon which the Lord wept that night as He contemplated His crucification.

“Stunning Old Olive Trees!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

What a privilege to see the Garden o Gethsemane~the olive trees have survived amidst all the pollution of the city for over 900 years. Our guide told us the fruit from the trees is harvested and made into oil for the lamps in the church.
