It's an amazing cultural and religious experience being there and observing how local people interchange among themselves. Sometimes we can feel the tension in the air. If you are jewish you cannot go around the muslim quarter and vice versa. Even so, the town is safe.
The old city has a lot of history and holy places, and it's as antique as magic, just to think about all that historic scenes happening in the same ground you are stepping on is surreal.
The town is beatiful, clean, very well preserved. It has a lot charming restaurants with good food, nice shops and sightseeings. At the sunset the town is gold due to the buildings built in a grayish yellow stone.
