Owner description: A hill in the eastern part of Old Jerusalem is of special significance to the world's three major religions. It was reputedly the site of the first and second Jewish Temple, and since the 7th century has contained two Muslim shrines.

“Visit to complete your Jerusalem experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Temple Mount with it's golden dome dominates the Old City of Jerusalem. This is Islam's third holiest site, and sits above Judaism's holiest. The entire Temple Mount is surrounded by walls. Access is via 11 gates of which Muslims can use all gates, unfortunately for other faiths, access is allowed only on the Marokkanertor at the Wailing Wall. Entrance to the Temple Mount is free, but you should remember about modest clothing(no shorts for gents). Note: The time for the tourists in the area is very limited. When we were in Jerusalem, only Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays was possible 8:00 to 10:30 am and 12:30 to 14:00 pm.

“Epicenter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

The Temple Mount is the epicenter of the earth and has such religious, historical, and cultural significance. It was an amazing experience and I was overwhelmed. I would definitely go through all you have to go through to get to go there. The security checks and lines and rules were worth the views and being on such a holy sight.

“The icon of Jesuralem pictures”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

To get access, you must, of course, pass security. Avoid, if possible, the wooden path next to the Western Wall. There are other entrances! It's only open a few hours daily and if you are a couple - remember to not touch each other. They "watch-men" will tell you "No touch". It seems like the hours could change with whenever the "watch-men" feel like it's enough.
You are not allowed in to the mosque which is ashamed. The area around it is quite big and I found it interesting with arches and more. The mosque itself is wonderful with all its different tiles. Nice view as well over the Mount of Olives.
