“If you are looking for a boutique hotel, this is not the place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

Arriving in the hotel late evening, we have recieved a tiny room with a window half a meter lower then the parking place, the view was spectacular - the wheels of the parking cars.

My wife has been so upset, she has decided she wants to leave immidiately.

evetually, we have been upgaded to a delux room with a view to the old city. the view was lovely, the room was too red for our taste, and the paining on the wall was bizzare. the bathroom was so cold, it felt like going into a freezer. there was no heater in the bathroom as well.

Room Tip: high floor, room facing the old city, dont dare take a room on the first floor.

We stayed 2 nights at the Dan Boutique in Jerusalem, visiting to see the snow. Actually we booked only for one night but since the snow was great and the hotel too we decided to stay another night.
We took the Superior/Delux room with a balcony towards the old city. View was great especially when it was covered with snow...
Room is good size and clean. All in all the service is great except a small issue we had the second day at their dairy restaurant (confused orders and very slow). The restaurant itself is good, try the onion soup!
The breakfast buffet was good too with a large variety to choose from.
Free parking just infront of the hotel.
The Wi-Fi is free in the lobby etc but not in the rooms. I never understand these hotels that in these days do not supply free wi-fi throughout the hotel...
As others have mentioned, the location is a bit out of the way. This didn't matter to us as it was anyway snowing so we took a taxi to the old city for NIS 20 (=$5.00) each way.
We will definately consider stayind here again when visiting Jerusalem.

Our family of 5 spent 5 nights at the Dan Boutique in Jerusalem. Rooms were large and reasonably clean. The beds were nice and firm but the pillows were too fat and lumpy. The bar service was slow, but adequate. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with enough things for our kids to eat. As others have mentioned, the location is a bit out of the way. It is a good 15-20 minute walk to Old Town, Mamilla or the city center. With kids this is a perfect place to stay. There were a lot of families from all over the world. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Do not pay extra for the city view as there is a nice patio if you want to see the view.

The Dan Boutique hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Old City and close to the German Colony, Cinematheque, and a number of other restaurants. It was just far enough away to get out of the chaos and is fairly convenient to most places. The staff was courteous, helpful, and the hotel was very clean and well-kept. Breakfast was great. Only downside is that wifi was only available in the lobby unless you pay for it, and the rate was fairly high.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Old City

Dear Bill W,
Thank you so much for the review; it is comments such as these that assist other travelers in making decisions.
Indeed, whilst we may not be AS central as other hotels, we find our little corner overlooking Jerusalem, perfect for short walks into the Old city or recreation centres.
Our unique, personalized service is a signature that guests return for, year after year and we hope you'll do the same.
Furthermore, wifi service is complementary in public areas of all our hotels and a service that is constantly being discussed.
Looking forward to welcome you back,
with regards,
Shimrit Ohana

We were delighted that the hotel gave us two rooms beside each other as it was great to have our 3 children in the room next door. We found the hotel to be quiet, clean and very comfortable .The Hotel's Israeli Breakfast was so good and offered many delicious fresh foods.
It was only a short walk in the evening to Emek Refaim Street where there are so many top class restaurants offering menus from all over the world. We booked a taxi recommended by the Hotel to bring us to various places of interest and having felt very relaxed with these two drivers named Yaacov i and his partner Menachem we engaged them to take us on a day tour of the Dead Sea area including, Tour of Massada, a camel ride, visit to a Spa, visit to Ahava Dead Sea mineral factory and swimming in the Dead Sea.This was so much fun and we could not have done so much travelling on our own in a short time. We can highly recommend Yaacov and Menachem taxi services to anyone needing Taxi transport at the Dan
All our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dan Boutique and would stay there again.

I have been in quite a lot of different hotels in Israel, and I can honestly say that I enjoyed the stay at Dan Boutique Jerusalem the most. The location of the hotel is excellent, it is close enough to the old city to get there by walking. The hotel also has great service, the staff helped me with every question and request I had. I also enjoyed the billiard table in the lobby of the hotel. I will definitely come to this hotel again on my next visits to Jerusalem, highly recommended.
